Need an opinion

Is is stupid to have a wine theme for a wedding if it's not on a vineyard? I love wine & would love to incorporate it. Thoughts?

I don't think so! What do you mean by wine theme, though? In addition to serving wine, what else will make up the theme?

Basically favors, table numbers, rustic feel etc

So wine theme was a bad choice of words LOL I wanted to say like a vineyard feel

You can even see if you can have a wine tasting table during CH...idk...just a thought...

Not at all! I mean, it depends on the venue of course, but I considered it for our wedding at JT.

ETA: To elaborate, I feel like it wouldn't make much sense at a swanky rooftop lounge wedding or for a wedding held at, say, Queens County Farm Museum, but for most RHs, I think it would be fine.

Are there any brides on here doing any themed weddings? I feel like that's all I see out there now.......

I was thinking possibly a fall theme too but will that go with purples?

I'm considering a fall theme. Our wedding is in October, and I want the color scheme to be all maroons and oranges and browns ... I love everything about fall! I don't know about purple, but eggplant and maroons and wines are definitely fall colors :)

Yes I would def be doing eggplant color :) It will go with the orange & browns right What about bouquet colors? Can I stick with just purples and white/creme for instance?

I think it's a nice idea. I don't drink alcohol but I like the look of grapes and vineyard looking decor.

Chateau La Mer is on the water though, so you could go with a nautical/beach theme...but if it's November I could see why you might not want that.

Go with what you like, as long as it all comes together, it will look great even if it's not at a vineyard!

I prefer a mix of colors, but I think purples and whites would look amazing together too!

I love vino so I love your theme. If you do go the fall theme route, I have plenty for sale from my wedding, which was fall themed. Check out my album if interested.

this!! one of the venues i was looking at during my RH search knew that my dad was big into wines and told us they would be happy to re-arrange the crudite table so that the cheese and crackers were on a separate table with wine they were going to serve as part of our bar options as a pairing...

also- my cousin had her wedding at a vineyard and she used corks with a slit in them as a place card holder and she had big clear vases filled with corks...
