Need Cheap Reliable Cell Phone Service...

I currently have Sprint and am pretty close to cancelling with them. Anyone have service they like or hate? Good/bad phones? Thanks...

I just cancelled with Spring in November and switched to verizon after shopping around. I've had a good experience and it seems that most people I've spoken to use Verizon and recommend it.

Fi's cousin has nextel and her contract is up and she didnt renew. She steered me clear of nextel. She said she has bad connections sometimes (but thats just all cell phones I think), they are very expensive, and you cant break your contract meaning if you are not happy oh well you have a 1 or 2 year contract and you have to keep it till the contract runs out

The walkie talkie thing is pretty friggin cool and convenient though...(Nextel) and the phone are gorgeous.

I'm also a current Sprint PCS member, paying $29.99 a month, and not using my phone enough to justify that amount.

I just got an advertisement from AAA for a discount with T Mobile. Are you a AAA member? The deal is 60 nationwide WHENEVER minutes,
500 weekend minutes, Free nationwide long distance & roaming, for $19.99 a month. I'm in Massachusetts though, and don't know if they are making the same offer in New York. Check AAA.com if it interests you.

I had Sprint and was not too crazy about it, so I changed to AT&T Wireless. I get a discount from my company, so it's pretty reasonable and the service is very good. I love the phone I have, even though it was cheapest one they had. I had problems with my expensive Sprint phone from Day 1.

I am with T Mobile. I have 75 min/month and free weekends. Very reliable service. I pay 19.99 a month. I am very happy with them. I have been with the company for 3 years. They used to be Voicestream and before that they were Omnipoint. I never even had any problems when they were being bought.

My DH has T-Mobile and he's been with them for around 3 yrs. They give a lot of minutes for the price. They also have free handset replacement so if you break your phone they'll replace it for free. I must say though that the phone you get does make a difference! If you get a cheap phone then you'll have crappy service - no matter which company you go with. I think he's got free nights and weekends with 600 minutes a month for $39.99.

I have T-Mobile as well -FH & I spent the whole weekend shopping around to see who has the best plan because ours was expiring and T-Mobile won! Their service is great and plans are great too-we have the family share plan and unlimited between our phones and 800 shared minutes!! not to mention free long distance-no roaming in USA & unlimited weekend minutes! Verizon has amazing service-i used to have them-but they are just too expensive. We got new ph ones that are amazing-the SAMSUNG S105 I think it is--it's sooo cool!! Definetely recommend T-Mobile-great customer service too-I remember after 9/11 they gave 100 free minutes for two straight months to customers in NY, NJ, CT & MD and some other east coast states-i thought that was great!

Both my husband and I have NExtel as well as my sister and we all love it!! We have had Verison, sprint, and countless others but have never been satisfied as with Nextel. I love the Direct Connect (walkie talkie thingy) feature! It has been a life saver for us!

Fh and I have Verizon and we love it. FH had Nextel until recently. He constantly lost calls on nextel and had no service a lot. His brother and father both have nextel too and they also have lost calls and have no service a lot. They're waiting till the contract runs out and changing to Verizon.

I just renewed with T-Mobile after shopping around a bit. The service is good (probably not as good as Verizon but much cheaper) and I agree about the phone thing. I got a new phone and my connections are much better.

I have the 39.99 plan with 600 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends. - also have the web access for $2.99 a mo. I travel across the country and use the nationwide service quite a bit - no roaming or long distance and DH says I sound like I'm sitting right next to him when I'm calling from CA.

Verizon so far is the most reliable service we have ever had.. I dont know if its the cheapest

I have T Mobile as well. I got it b/c I wanted a cheap plan with voice mail. I didn't need many minutes so I got the $19.99 plan. I'm happy with them and feel my connections are just as good as with AT&T. Of course the phone makes the difference. Their rate if you go over your min. is like $.45 while AT&T is $.60.
