We would like to know of any places to rent a Chuppah that is free-standing...we are nmot watning to spend a lot of moneyk, as our officiants are already expensive...the florist quotes are too expensive and teh ceremony is not at the the reception hall, so using them is out of the question...
Does anyone know where I can rent one, make one, or does anyone have one I can borrow??

If you get help from your brother, dad, etc, you can make one..And then decorate it I'm sure you can do it.. here is a pic
Get a large thing to drape over top.. Put some ivy around each let.. Each wood leg should probably stand about 7 feet high..
We're renting ours from the florist. I don't know the prices you've been quoted, but the basic chuppa from LA Blossom is $450. We added more flowers so it wil be $550.

Do you have a florist? You can use any covering, like a prayer shawl, or silk material, and just attach to four poles provided by your florist. Simple, cheap, elegant. FM if I can be of help--Flower Michele did this for me it was spectacular.

Yussel's Place in Merrick has a handheld one that is beautiful for $125!!! We are probably going to get it b/c we will need one if our ceremony has to move inside.

I may look into that - it's cheaper than what I was planning to spend on upgrading the Chuppah at CB - half the price in fact.
