Need computer help!!

My stupid laptop is acting up again - it is runnign really slow and i cant access the internet at all.

I also get an error message - saying XML Parse Error
Error loading XML
XML document must hve a top level element -

Does anyone know what this means?

ETA: So, I did a virus scan and although i dont have viruses I have about 10 at risk files that say adware -

Does anyone know how to deal with this?

Can you install anything off the internet at all? IF so do a google on Lavasoft Adware and download adware.....Run this program and it will remove all the spyware that is causing you problems.

I cant get onto the internet - i'll try again at home - but it is so slow and then wont go on - i have roadrunner - and it definitely doesnt work straight through internet explorer - and when it connects through AOL (i have an account also) - it goes really slow and then logs me off

Did you try to delete stuff that you dont need?

What OS (Operating System) do you have?

You need to delete cookies, history, Temp files, Temporary Internet files etc....

Try clicking
Start
Program files
Accessories
System Tools
Disc Clean up
Then click ok...
And let it delete stuff

Then you can try to double click on your 'My computer icon' on the desk top

Click on Control Panel

Add or remove programs

Look for items that dont belong there....Spyware will install programs onto your PC....

A messy list can be found here of items and program names that are spyware and that can be removed from your PC.

I recommend after you fix your pc that you install a firewall and buy a router, install adware, spygate, and spybot to remove spyware, and to make sure your virus protector is always updated.
