need craft activity ideas, please...

Hi,
I am not sure where to get this information.
My grandma had a stroke which left her
right side paralyzed. I need to find
an activity that she is able to do with
only one hand without any assitance.
She is in a nursing home and
she is bored out of her mind and very frustrated (she was right handed , too!)

Before her stroke, she used to crochet and sew. I feel so bad for her.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

She is going to need assistance with painting.
It's messy too. The key is to find something that the aides dont have to work with her because they have other residents to watch/take care .

Does she know how to knit? I've seen a contraption that clamps to a table to hold one knitting needle, so you can hold the other in one hand. They also make stands for cross stitch and needlepoint frames that hold the canvas on a tabletop frame. If someone would thread needles for her she might be able to stich with one hand.

What about those christmas ornaments that are styrofoam balls and eggs, and you layer beads and sequins on a pin the push those into the egg. Does she have any movement with her right side? If she could at least hold the ball and turn it with her fingers she could manipulate the pins and beads with the other one.

Or what about photo albums - are there family photos that she could put into albums? She could sort through photos on a table to organize them, and use self-adhesive photo corners to put them in the books. The when you or other family members visit you could discuss and write down what's meaninful about the photos, to include in the album.
