Need Decorating Advice, Please...

In our home, our living room and dining room are open to each other. No walls to separate them. In the dining room, we have whitewashed furniture. Now we are shopping for the living room furniture and don't know if we need to get whitewashed wood or if we can go a little darker like a pecan finish. We have beige couches so I think a little darker wood would look really nice but I am afraid to mix too much becuase the rooms are so close together.

Any advice or suggestions??

I think you would fine with a darker wood. You can always bring the white into the room with accent pieces or trim if need be.
