Need DJ help

Hi ladies,
Does anyone have any good reviews on DJs?
We have looked at 4 so far and I like a little bit about each, but can't find the right match. We are willing to spend extra if we find someone we like that we think will do a great job. The DJ is really important to us so....what do you think?
Thank you!!!

I booked Vinny from High Volatage sounds - he was really down to earth and his prices are the best I've seen. I also met with TOmmy Tunes -he has a lot to offer but cost more. Not sure what you are looking for -but Vinny was great. Not pushy at all.

I would definitely recommend Tommy's Tunes....i've seen them at 5 different weddings and am NEVER disappointed. They are very friendly and I think reasonable!!!! Good luck with the search!

Music by Michael....he did an awesome job on my wedding. He also has a great planning tool that helps you pick out your music. Check him out he is a vendor on LIW.

We used Starlight Express (they share office space with Silverfox Photo in Mineola) and they were fantastic. People (of all ages) were on the dance floor all night!

Re: Need DJ help

heard a lot of good stuff about Dance Jock but they only had one MC left rick who is an older guy and when I told my banqet hall manager he said ' make sure you sure an MC who is closer to your age' so I didnt go with Dance Jock I went with Party Hardy. The girl I was working with there was really nice to me and not so much at dance jock. she got nasty when I told her I wanted a MC closer to our age.

I will 2nd Tommy's Tunes... tentatively.

I have seen them at a few weddings and they were INSANELY good. One of my friends CHANGED THE DATE OF HER WEDDING so she could have them.

But... I am not married yet and can't review them from personal experience yet. And although they have prices that vary from under 1000 (3 hours), the packages can get REALLY high.

I am not a DJ person per se but I went to a wedding where Variety Music was the DJ company. Ray, the owner was the DJ and MC that night and he was great. He played a great mix, really read the crowd and was very professional and personable.

Highly recommended and that's from a band person!

We booked In The Mix DJs on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. They seemed very professional and I loved their style and also the priceing is pretty reasonable and Donny is a pleasure to work with!
