Need encouragement and hugs

I am having a horrible horrible time at work. Besides the fact that we are downsizing and probably going to get laid off, my boss took all my work away from me, discredited me, made me look like an idiot to upper management, and is an insecure, napolean complex douche.

This is beyond micromanagement. It is getting to the point where i am being harassed. I have to send 'updates' to him every 3 hours. I have no work to do and sent him 'updates' asking for my privileges to be back in the system. He said he needed to determine that for himself. Mind you i never screwed up.

Please tell me to hang in. I cannot take it anymore. I am literally about to smack him in the face or walk out. It is not even how I would normally feel about a job. I wake up sick thinking about it. Dont know what to do. Thanks for listening everyone....

Omg im sorry you have to go thru this. You should definitely start sending your resume out to other places something better will come along and you can tell your boss to go F*CK himself!!!

awww, I am so sorry. That is so annoying! But hang in there. Don't quit!!! Then he wins - just hang in!

OMG what a nut job!! He sounds like he might be frazzled about perhaps losing his job as well... and is taking it out on you... or taking your work so he can do it himself and look like an asset. IDK that's all I can think of... but you are right.. is is a DOUCHE!!! I agree!!

I'm sorry to hear this. I too have my days with work. All I can say is don't give them the satisfaction of quitting. If they want to take work away, fine, work on what you have left. If he wants updates and there is nothing to update since you have less, then when he questions it let him know. FH keeps telling me that the best way to get back at people that are as awful as your boss sounds is to just smile and be unaffected. If they see that you aren't getting upset etc.. that will aggravate them even more. Wow he would be so proud that I was passing this along to someone since he has to tell me it SO many times. In the meantime, I know it's not the best economy but people are hiring. Get your resume together and get it out there.

BELIEVE ME I know what you're going through. I am going through pretty much the same exact thing. The only thing I can say is try to put your blinders on and respond in the same way you are being treated.

You know....you HAVE to hang in there. He's probably hoping that you leave on your own so you don't get a severance package- saving the company money. Screw him. HANG IN THERE YOU CAN DO THIS!

Can you talk to someone in human resources? I know someone who was being bullied by their boss and they went to human resources and the boss was repremanded. Now he is very nice to her and watches what he says and how he says it.

oh I have been there big bad and awful, you feel like you are going crazy. The worst part is having your character attacked.
