Need Engagement Party Help!

Any advice on how long after your actual engagement is too late to have an engagement party?
Any advice on where to get nice, cheap invitations quickly?
Any advice on invitation wording...is it typical to include who the party is thrown by?

I would say its too late to have an engagement party if your wedding is less than 6 months away.

You can get cheap invites online or print them yourself.

The party should be hosted by your parents or some other relatives and the invite should indicate that.

We have been engaged for almost 6 months and are having the e-party sometime next yr in March. Our wedding is in 3/04. So exactly a year before our wedding and 11 months after our engagement. If my dad doesn't recuperate from his medical situation, we may put the e-party off longer. We are doing it more for both sides of the family to meet. So for us its whenever it happens is okay for us.

I answer to your invite ??: You can get blank invites from Michael's. They have a 50-pack in white or 40-pack in ecru. A packet at regular price is about $9.99. They were on sale 2 weeks ago for $4.99. You can always use the coupons to save on the regular price.

Our engagement party is going to be this Saturday, Oct. 5th and we're getting married May 2004. As far as the invites, I got mine from Staples. They have an Ampad wedding invitations package. 50 invitations and 50 response cards for $25.

Annie We got engaged in November and made our party in August and are getting married 2 years later. I think about a year in between is fine. I printed my own invitations on the computer. Michael's had a sale on blank white cards and envelopes (originally 9.99 on sale 4.99 for 50) It took a lot of ink but well worth it! Everyone raved about them. I was going to rubberstamp them but I liked what I did on the computer better. If you have any questions just ask!!
