Hi ladies. Desperately need your help. I am awful with this stuff.
We have only a MOH and BM - no additional bridal party. And my dress is ivory. I'm trying to figure out what colors for FH and BM to wear with their tuxes. I like a tradional classic black tux - FH does not like the idea of matching the MOH colors....should FH wear off white tie, shirt and vest? Bow tie or regular tie? And should the BM wear black vest and tie with white shirt?
Wedding is mid June Friday evening. Please post suggestions you would recommend ...feel free to post pics. I really appreciate your help!

i wore ivory and the men all wore traditional tuxes (bow ties and cumberbunds) with white shirts and black buttons. imo, ivory shirts with tuxes do not look as good.
no one is going to say that your dress wasn't white if that's what you're worried about.

if you are wearing ivory fh the guys should also..thats my opinion and the opinion of all the tuxedo places i went to...i have some pics in my album...my gown was ivory and gold.... IMO, the white shirt can sometimes make an ivory gown look 'dingy'...like its not white. Our ivory shirts were sooo white looking that you couldnt even tell unless you put it against a start white anyway

i guess it really depends. my dress was such a deep ivory, if the boys wore matching shirts, i think they would have looked yellow.

they def have different shades of ivory but my gown was fairly dark as well with gold in it and from the pics i have so far the light ivory seemed to work fine.

well, whatever. there's nothing i can do about it now! =) i think all the men look crisp, and i don't think my dress looks dingy in any pics, and i guess that's all that matters!

My dress is the white ivory, not yellow ivory.
FH is wearing ivory shirt and vest. A white shirt and ivory vest did not look good together when we tried it.

Maybe have the MOH dress color match the tie of the BM and have him wear a black vest. That way its not too much or have him wear a silver or platinum tie

o hey i'm getting married the day after you and i'm also wearing ivory and FH is wearing a suit and i was pondering the same question- but after talking to a bunch of ladies on here and seeing some pics- he is gonna stick with a white shirt and a grayish tie- only a little bit of teh white shirt is gonna show from underneath the jacket and it doesnt really make the brides dress look yellow- i've looked at a bunch of pics...

well depends on the ivory, not all ivory looks yellow-ish.
To the op, my dress was ivory but its a light ivory, looked white to me. Dh wore an ivory shirt, ivory vest and burberry tie. The best man wore ivory shirt, black vest and burberry tie.
Here is a pic, i think the ivory looked just fine with the tux and i doubt most ppl can look at it and say oh yeah its ivory
and here is a pic of us together with his ivory shirt against my ivory dress

My DH wore Ivory vest and tie. It looked so good. Pics in my album. Also we only had a BM and MOH. BM worse a vest & tie that matched the closet to my MOH's dress. They were both in a herribone pattern and it worked well.

I agree that Espo's DH's shirt looks SO crisp and white even though it's ivory...However the ivory shirts they showed us at Men's Wearhouse were dark and almost yellow...We decided to go with white shirts. Not all ivory shirts look as white as that...
