About a month ago FH and I met with two florists. I really loved Flower Michele, and I think they were giving me a good deal. I'm not getting very much, so our estimate was $1200.
John said he would email us a list of what he promised us along with the price quote. He forgot to do this and we had to call him a couple times to get it. Once we did get it, there were a bunch of details wrong, including the date and FH's name (not just a spelling error-it was a different person). They said they corrected the errors, so we decided to book with them.
While on our way to our booking appointment last week, John called me to cancel, saying he had a flower emergency and had to run out to a wedding (which I completely understood, I just appreciated that he called). He said he would call me to reschedule, which he never did.
So now I'm wondering...are they trying to avoid our business because it is relatively smaller than other weddings? And do you girls think I should keep looking to find another florist, or book Flower Michele? I really really loved everything John showed me and I got excited about it, but I'm worried about all the mistakes and evasiveness.
I'm really starting to panic because I feel like I should have booked this a long time ago and I'm worried that pretty soon our date will be taken everywhere. Help!! What should I do?
TIA!

Try Flowers by Burton - they are a wholesaler & work w/ smaller budgets but get you the type of flowers you want...just my 2 cents

In general, I think if you are frustrated with any vendor, you should go somewhere else, you don't want to be worried on your wedding day!

Thanks again girls.
For all of you who suggested Gina...where is she located? I looked at her website but couldn't find an address. I want to make sure I leave enough time between appointments to get there.
Thanks!

You'll definitely love Gina. We booked with her because she is such a doll to work with. She's my favorite vendor ever.
Here's her email: [email protected] She's really good at returning phone calls and emails.
eta: she's in fresh meadows.

Re: Need florist help! (long, sorry)
we are having a big wedding and we have a large bridal party (8 and 8) BUT we are not doing flower CP's as an effort to cut back on costs. So we only needed bok's, bouts and chuurch flowers, mom stuff, etc. We came in just under $1,400 and flower barn totally meade us feel important! we just met with them and booked this last saturday!

I say keep looking. We booked with them and were very dissapointed on our wedding day. If I can do it all over again, they will be the only vendor I will change.
