Ok here's the deal. When FH and I first got engaged I told him that I think we should have his neice as a flowergirl or jr bridesmaid, she's 9. He said no it's going to be to much bla bla bla. ok whatever so we never asked her. now fast forward to yesterday. He calls me and tells me that his neice mentioned to him that she really wants to be a flower girl in our wedding so now he wants to ask her. Hello our wedding is less than 3 months away. So I call the bridal shop to find out if they make jr. bridesmaid dresses for the ones my girls are wearing, they don't. So my question is 9 too old to be a flowergirl and where the heck am I going to get a dress for her? Thanks so much!!!!

I don't think nine is too old.
You could check out gownfind.com or David's Bridal. Or you can try Estelle's Dressy Dresses in on Rte 110.

I think if you want to add her go ahead. I am having 3 flowergirls! The oldest is 8, she is wearing a flower girl dress like the 2 younger ones, but I am having her carry a small bouquet rather than a basket. You can do whatever you want.

My flowergirl (my cousin) is going to be 9... but she's really tiny. We don't have any other fam members or friends kids that are under 9! Her dress is by Jordan. I'm sure they make all sizes.. I hope. She will be wearing white.

i know Phyllis at gownfind is also a dress maker. She would have made my Jr. Bridesmaid dress to match if there was not a small size to fit! We went with a Jordan dress who happnes to have Jr. bridesmaid sizes.

As long as she wants to be a flowergirl, then I think you should go for it. Its all in the attitude. If she's psyched, then its all good, even if she is a little older. Maybe you can just have her wear a dress that matches or compliments the color of your BM dresses. You could try online for young girl dresses. The briar patch (www.shopbriarpatch.com) has some cute dresses for girls that would be appropriate for her age.

Try Tri Country in Levittown. They have many different styles of flower girl dresses that you can buy right off of the rack. I am getting married in the beginning of December and I havent even looked for flowergirl dresses. I am going to go to a place to buy it off of the rack because they grow to fast that a dress that was ordered for them months ago may be to small for them now.

I got my 10 yr old goddaughter a junior bridesmaid dress off-the-rack from David's bridal last week and my wedding is in 3 months too. They had a limited selection, but what they had was cute.
