If you are going to drive to E Npt then I highly suggest Lauren at Cactus in Northport. I drive 45 mins to get my hair done by her. I have never been disappointed and she did my wedding hair too.
David Cactus Salon in East Islip....I have had bad hair cut after bad haircut and someone on here recommended me to David and he is AMAZING!!!
I have been using Meaghan M. at Sivana Salon in St. James for the past few times I've gotten cut/hair done, and I really liked this most recent cut a lot. Maybe a little far out for you, but not as far as East Northport at least!

My aunt is an awesome hair stylist and colorist. She is currentle working our of her home in Bayport and a salon is E. Hampton. She's about to open a new salon in Sayville. FM me if you want her number.
