I love oahu, i think two days is ood but i wouldn't make it any shorter.

Oahu isn't great - it's basically a big city. But there is enough to do for two days. You can check out the north shore - generally only locals go there, climb diamond head very cool views. And they have a good night life. It is worth seeing, but you don't need too much time there.

What airport are you flying in and out of?
We did our 'day trip' to Pearl Harbor on the last day of our trip.
Our flight back to NY left at like 7PM out of Honolulu.
We were on the Big Island our last night, then left on a 6:30AM flight back to Oahu/Honolulu.
We then had pretty much an entire day from the time we landed until 7PM to see Pearl Harbor and hang out. We also rented a car for the day ($35) since it was cheaper than taking cabs around.
It couldn't have been more perfect!

We are spending 17 days in Hawaii and have been told that Oahu is best to do as a day trip from any of the other islands. I would recommend extending your trip to Maui and taking a day to Oahu from there or one of the other islands you're staying at. What about Kuai?

If you are there you should make an effort to get to Kaui, it is so beautiful there. Very tropical, not so built up. Oahu was nice...we spent three days there and that was enough....very city like.

i'm going to maui (6 dys) and kaui 2 days - several people told me kaui is absolutely beautiful! good luck!

Oahu is actually a beautiful island and if you stay away from torist areas like Wakkaiki, you can see some wonderful stuff! I would spend at least two days there- hiking Diamond Head, trying surfing at Wakkaiki beach, going to Pearl Harbor. I was there with someone who had lived there and we drove around the whole island. Its really pretty.
