Need Hawaii Help!!!!

I have had more indecisions about my HM than anything else. I desperately need feedback. We are getting a VERY good price for the below package and would like to know if anyone has stayed at these hotels. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!

Round trip airfare leaving LGA at 6am and getting to Hawaii 1pm Hawaii time.

2 nights at the outrigger waikiki

3 nights at the Sheraton in Kuaia with a convertible

5 nights in Maui at the Royal Lahaina with a jeep. all tranfers inter island ????????? Help

...or for about $200 less I could do 5 nights in Kuaia and 5 nights in Maui

Re: Need Hawaii Help!!!!

If it was me- I would do Maui and Kaui - I have been to hawaii twice and found although oahu (waikiki) to be nice - it is very commercial and good for someone who first visits hawaii so that they can go to pearl harbor - but not as romantic as as the other two islands. You will absolutely LOVE hawaii. If I remember wakiki - the outrigger was right on the beach there. We stayed somewhere there and went to that beach a few times.
It simply depends on if you are looking for more commercial activities. We went to the beach, toured pearl harbor and went to the hard rock there. I was with my family so we didn't do any nightlife.
My choice would be to change save the 200 and go to only the two islands.
Either way you will have an amazing honeymoon!!!!!!

You will laugh but Kaui was actually more quiet and pretty and fun at the same time. We went to this buddhist temple which was really interesting and then you can feed the birds there.
There were also a lot of REALLY good Japanese restaurants where you can sit on the floor at your table - near these japanese gardens. THey were actually kind of different and fun.

Curly- we are staying at the Outrigger Waikiki- just so that we could go to Pearl Harbor because who knows when we will ever get to Hawaii again.

So it's an O.K hotel. I was worreid that going 3 stars and not 5 would s*ck but I am getting quoted a great rate. Thanks!!

Actually i am pretty sure Waikiki is 4 star, i am staying there too in May. If i needed to eliminate any island it would be Oahu since most people say it is very cityish and crowded but it is where pearl harbor is and why i myself decided to just spend two days there. Depends i guess on how imprtant it is to you to do that stuff but the whole never be there again aspect comes into play.
its a tough decision but I have yet to hear anyone say anything bad about Hawaii Im sure whatever you decide it will be fabulous!
Good luck!

Re: Need Hawaii Help!!!!

Curly,

The Outrigger is a 4 star hotel and is very nice. I went to a conference there last summer and really liked it. I'm not into how commercial Waikiki is but my FI loves it so we will be there for 8 days and spend 5 days in Kuai. We will probably do a day trip to Maui. If you like to shop, you should definitely spend a few days in Waikiki.

We stayed at the Sheraton in Kauii, and loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for. It's more of a quiet resort, compared to some of the other spa resorts. The rooms are in need of updating, but would still recommend them.
