Are you taking pics before or after the ceremony?
Our ceremony is at 12 noon, and we are taking pics before.
So I am going to have the hair/makeup people at my house at 5:30-6 am, and want to be out of the house by 8:30am, at Westbury manor by 9am, taking pics until around 11am, ceremony at 12, CH at 12:30, Reception 12:30-5:30pm. I am not sure if I am leaving enough time for pics, so the times might be tweaked a little earlier, I'll have to figure that out as the day draws closer.

Lauren, my timeline is almost identical to yours. Are you getting dressed at WM?

Orginally, I was going to, but decided against it for a few reasons. First, the bridal suite there is a little on the small side to be getting dressed, and secondly (and more important) is that I really want pictures of my getting ready at my house. I grew up in this house, and will not be moving out until the wedding, so its really sentimental for me

Are you getting dressed there?

I'm not sure. I'm getting ready at the Wingate. I thought it would be easier to get dressed at WM. But you are right, the suites are a little small and I do like the pictures of all of the bridesmaids helping the bride get ready.

I have the same deal more or less. Our ceremony is 11am in Westbury and the cocktail hour starts at 12:30pm (Woodbury). I wasn't so concerned about it until my vendors freaked out each time one of them asked us. I really don't want to take pics before the ceremony though.

What to do what to do!

For my Sunday daytime wedding, ceremony is at 11:30, cocktail hour 12-1, and reception 1-5. We're taking some pics before the ceremony, some during cocktail hour. FH wants everything done by the time CH is over because he wants us to actually enjoy our wedding. What a concept!

mine is the same....11am westbury, 12:30pm woodbury.......FH keeps telling me not to stress, we are doing pictures during the cocktail hour, we are only having a ceremony (not a full mass) and we are keeping the receiving line short with just us and our parents.....his older brother had the same timeline and about the same distance between venues and they keep reassuring me it was fine.

Thanks! I'm in the same situation and didn't think anything of it until my photographer lost his mind when I told him the times. Other people are telling me we'll be fine, if need be we'll cut into cocktail hour for pictures.

Re: need help 11 am ceremony

I have been to many weddings and helped people plan many weddings.

MY BEST SUGGESTION EVER---
have cocktails before the ceremony...
otherwise your guests are eating cocktails then immediatly eating lunch / early dinner...food right after food...

serving something even just some fruit, champagne before will give people a small something to eat to tide them over then after the ceremony they are more likely to actually be hungry to eat a meal after the ceremony.

I know this isnt considered traditional these days, however i think its a great idea...

I was up at 4:15.
Hair came at 5:30. I did all the prep and blow drying. She did the set and final touches only.
Make-up came at 7pm.
DH & family plus guys in BP were at WM to take pics at 8:30.
I was suppose to arrive at 9am, but didn't get there until 9:30.
Got dressed...immediately started pics.
Final touches, etc.
Ceremony 11am.
No receiving line...takes up too much time especially if you're getting married at the reception hall. Not necessary. IMHO.
CH started - 11:30 - 1pm
1-5 reception.
DH & I chose not to take pics together before the ceremony. We did take pics with our families and our BP during that time and then did together shots during the CH. We opted for an extra 1/2 hour during CH, but still did not have time to get to CH...it really in the long run didn't end up being that big of a deal because we got great pics.
