need help!!!

need help!!!

I have been having an ongoing debate in my head for the last three days.... opinions/advice needed....

My heart says that I want to book at band for my wedding.....I think it sets the tone for the reception and will make it very memorable.

My brain says that I can save a lot of money by booking a DJ.... but I feel like the Dj will just be a guy and his equipment....

Please help... I am driving myself NUTS!!!!!!!

How about BOTH? Maybe a DJ and hire a live percussionist to accompany the music??? It's not as expensive as a band, but you will also have the live music you desire?????

we went to see them live, and we loved them.. everyone was dancing!! go for a band!!

I think even though a band is a lot more, if you can afford it and its want you really want, then do it. You shouldn't settle.

PS FH wanted a DJ, but I really wanted a band and he did agree that theres something different about having live music. We booked Code Bleu from Skyline Orchestras

I personally love bands! check out skyline orchestras. They have 4 different bands and they are all great and not too expensive. We booked skyline.

That's what we did. My friend had this at her wedding & it was great! Just make sure if you book a DJ that -

- they are aware of the TONE you want to set for the day (it's a wedding not a sweet 16)
- do go see the live percuision/sax add ons before booking them - one person I know was set on booking it but it just wasn't her thing after she heard it.

I booked with Bravura who is a vendor on this site and also with Woodbury CC and they have a DJ package and then you can add on a singer, sax player and percussionist. I would check them out. Plus Woodbury CC pays for their meal...

I also debated this because of the cost and I feel like nothing compairs to live music. It's a totally diffrent feeling than a DJ. Dont get me wrong a good DJ is great but I love live music so we went with a band.

I say go for the band...

Go for the Band. It's what your heart desires. You don't want to look back and regret not doing what you know you wanted. Years or even months after you booked a band, you won't remember how much you would have saved. Money comes and goes, but the memories last forever!

It's your wedding day don't settle. If you want a band so bad then maybe you'll have to cut back on something else to make the ends meet! I had to do that

i wanted a band, fh wanted a dj. cost was a major factor. as much as i wanted it at the end of the day it wasn't worth the money to us. to compromise we have a dj and a live singer that sings periodically throughout the first 2 hours. he sings sinatra, louie prima, etc. we saw a video and he was fantastic. it was very affordable and gave us the best of both worlds.

I am having a band. Not having a dj was a must for me, but we are having a small band (5 pieces) & it is under $4,000.
You could also go with a jazz trio which, it what we orignally considered, which was around $1200. I decided against that though, b/c it kind of limits your music selections.
