Hi all. I was enaged on 11/19. My Fiancee and I have been looking at halls and throwing around some dates and trying to find a budget.
Well, I was hoping some of you can help me out with the budget. We are looking at 150 people at the reception and 3-5 groomsman / Brides Maids. before we give a deposit on the hall and date, we were wondering what the cost for flowers, limos, DJs, photographers etc are going to range.
We want to keep it as close to $20,000 as possible. We both fell IN LOVE with the Fox Hollow and WANT to have the reception there. We just want to ensure that we can afford all the other stuff that we will need.
Oh 1 final thing, is it low-class to have 1 limo for the bridal party? meaning put the Brides Maids and Groomsman in the same limo? Like if we got a 13 person limo for them (depending on the size of the party)? My fiancee thought we could save a few dollars that way but I am not sure.

Re: Need Help!!
I can't help you about the Fox Hollow, but there are MANY brides on this board who I'm sure could give you great pricing advice on that. But what I can tell you is that I do not think it is low class to have everyone in 1 limo. FH and I are doing this. Our reception site is 10 minutes away from the church and for us we felt to spend another 500 dollars was just insane. Some people do it, but it just wasn't for us. I rather spend that money elsewhere.
But honestly I believe there are many brides on here who can help you it. Once you decided on your budget (which it seems like you have) decide how much money you want to allocate to each vendor, photographer, florist, DJ, etc. Believe me, brides on her can recommend a vendor in EVERY price range. Just ask, they will respond.
And BTW CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Re: Need Help!!
Its ok to have one limo for the BP, Im doing the same thing my church and reception site are like 15 mins apart and i live not tto far from my church neither does FH so we will have the limo pick the GMs first drop themm off them pick up the BM's so there is nothing wrong with that.
Flower pricing is subjective... about what u average you should spend, my exoerience with florist is that they work with you...John form Flower Michele worked with me...I am pleased.
My DJ was reasonable less than $1000
For photography I booked with Duet, they are also very reasonable
Did you intoduce yourself on the 07 boards come join us.
PS WE have the same date Hi Date twin and Congratulations

I def think you can have a great wedding for under 20k. First you need to book the hall. With this kind of budget you may want to think of off season (dec thr March) and maybe during the day on a Sunday so you dont have to skimp in the other areas.

For my brother's wedding there was only one limo. It picked up the boys and brought them to the church, then it picked up the girls and brought them to the church. Then both the boys and girls went to the reception hall together. Bride and groom had a separate car though.

You can have a wedding for about 20k but you might go over a little.
You have to look around for vendors, you can find deals.
Start making appointments and finding out prices, that will help you out alot.

Re: Need Help!!
in order to figure out what you can spend on things like DJ, flowers, photo, etc. you really need to decide what you want to spend on the hall...or in your case , you might want to consider how much Fox Hollow will be, if you pick that particular date and such. If that's the place you want, then you pick it and then figure out your vendors from only the budget remaining from what you wanted to spend.
you can get married for 20K...but if you want to get married at fox hollow in may, you probably won't be able to afford things like a $5K-$6K on a photo/video and like $3k on flowers, and such. you and FH will have to figure out what you're 'splurge' will be on. would you rather spend big bucks on the hall but have to save on photographer? some brides cut back on the hall, and go all out with the photo/video cause they feel that that is the one thing that will last forever after the party is over. everyone is different.
i myself am going to manage to have a wedding for about $20K...it can be done!!
congrats on your engagement!! sit down with your FH, and ask one another the important questions of what you want to spend the $$ on, and where you will try and save some dough. i think 99.99% of all brides wind up going over their budget, so keep that in mind when you make one!!

Re: Need Help!!
I definitely think that you can do this. There are many brodes that do a lot of DIY projects. They also have info on vendors that do not charge an arm and a leg for their services like most do.

Re: Need Help!!
first of all congrats and welcome!! The best thing to do is research. I think you should visit alot of vendors or even call them and explain to them you have a budget and ask them to accomodate you, believe me it works!!!
