need help asap regarding deposit for vendor and contract!!!

okay... well i booked a vendor and put a deposit down around 4 months ago. wont go into why..but thinking of changing vendors.

sooo now i am looking at the contract we signed and i am wondering if what follows means no refunds for deposits as well...

' fee policy- final payment- required 10 business days prior to the event. No refunds for cancellations, date or time changes, or cold feet.all changes subject to availability of vendor and not held responsible for acts of god, terror, illness or death'

okay so maybe i am just hoping...but it doesnt say anything specific to no refunds for deposits... just no refunds for cancellations.

so please tell me if i am high....or if i should be able to get deposit back. thank you!!!

damn! what kind of vendor is this????
call and be nice and ask if it's poosible to cancel contract?? how much did tou put down? if not too personal...

Most places won't give you your deposit back unless the date gets booked by someone else.

Humm I would give it a shot ... It doesn't hurt to try ... But your wedding is 9/28/06 thats like less then 3 months they might give you a hard time with that... because they lost that date. But Try it wont hurt... I mean if your that unhappy...

see thats a prob..i am getting married on a thursday so i know the odds of it getting booked are very unlikely... and on the other hand i could say well its a thursday and you said you dont often even do thursdays.

its an officiant. and the dep. is about 180.

i know!! i also dont know what to say !!! the vendor didnt do anything wrong..i just want to goa different direction... sigh!!! grrr!!!

Chances are you will lose the deposit.

Here's why:

In essence you are cancelling with the vendor, and therefore it classifies as a cancellation. So this way they are covered whether the wedding itself is cancelled or if you decide to cancel the contract. Because of this they do not have to refund your deposit.
