Need Help--BParty

So, I was invited to a work colleague's BParty recently (late addition), but not to the wedding in Sept. or shower back in July. Do I buy a gift?

I would say no.

no you definitely don't buy a gift - and i wouldn't even go to the party. imo you don't invite people to wedding related things if they're not invited to the wedding...

No gift, and don't go? Everytime I ask someone this question they get upset.

i'm not upset! i just think it's sort of rude for someone to do. it's like they're saying 'well i'm not close enough to you and you're not good enough to be invited to my bridal shower or wedding, but sure! come to my bparty and spend money on me!'

i think its okay to invite people to the bach party if they aren't invited to the wedding.

people have to understand that you are limited to a number of people.

wedding has to include all your family basically.

besides.. i'd rather go to a bach party for an aquaintance than a wedding cuz then i'm partying and not having to shell out money for a wedding gift.

I've thought about it Britt, I'm not buying a gift...and I might be offended too. I don't know if I'm going...probably not. I'll think about it some more..

I wouldn't buy a gift- maybe just drinks when you are out at the b-party.

I wouldn't invite people to my b-party that aren't invited to the wedding but I know people that have done that.

FH was just in his friends bridal party last week. When they went to New Orleans for the grooms b-party he was supposed to travel/room w/ another groomsman. That guy couldn't make it so FH asked his best friend (who wasn't invited to the wedding) to go (the groom and the other friend were friends just not close friends). At the b-party they all got drunk and had a good time and the other friend ended up getting invited to the wedding.

Well the bride told me today she's over by 75 people, so I don't think there's room for one more. It just seemed strange to me, and a little awkward.
