I am not sure which hotel is better the Occidental in Aruba or the Riu. HELP!!!!!!!

I stayed at the occidental in aruba a couple years ago and I cant say i was a huge fan. I loved Aruba but not the hotel. Theres nothing really memorable about the service or the hotel (aside from the room smelling like mildew). Although I've never stayed at the Riu, I did hear really great things. You should check www.traveladvisor.com for other peoples reviews.

When I was in Jamaica we stopped at the Rui to pick up some guests for a tour and it was incredible. Since it's a chain, I would assume all other locations are just as fabulous.

we stayed at the Riu in Aruba for the HM and I can't say enough about how great it was! What kind of questions did you have?

i absolutly disagree... we LOVED the occidential!!! the service was great... our room didnt smell like mildew... all rooms had a balconey and a california king size bed.... everyone was super nice and accomidating and they ALWAYS cleaned our room EVERY SINGLE DAY and all the resturants at the resort were very good!!!
ETA: we just stayed there this past may for our HM... pics are in my album!

I have heard mixed things on both places.
We stayed at the Hyatt and loved it! It is not all-inclusive though.

What do you mean..is there a difference? Both are all-inclusive. I only stayed at RIU but I can tell you: all rooms are suites, all have balconies, there are I think 4 or 5 restaurants you can eat at and a buffet. There is a swimup bar in the pool, lots of activities, a 24 hour sports bar with snacks, room service, a liquor dispenser in each room, everyone was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The rooms are really nice, california king beds and very spacious...
Ummm, not sure what else I could tell you. BUT Dh & I stayed there and are now looking into other RIU's in other locations because we loved it sooo much.

that is pretty much the same with the occidental with the exception of the liquor dispenser in the room... but the occidental also has everything listed above
