Need help finding a beautiful beach to take epics!!
Do any of you know of a beautiful beach to take our engagement photos in 2 weeks? We were going to do central park but photog wants to charge extra if we go to the city. Any suggestions for places on Long Island? I love a beach background but don't want all of our photos just in front of an ocean so want a beach with other scenery too. Please post pics if you can! Please help!!!

we had the same issue. originally wanted city, but went with LI for logistical reasons. but, in the end, i'm so glad we did. we took our pics at robert moses and the setting was perfect. there isn't too much more than the beach, but you can do so many interesting and artsy shots. here's the link to our pics:

Thanks for the pics! They came out beautiful and gave me a lot of ideas. Has anyone taken pictures at Sunken Meadow beach/park? If so, where did you tell the photographer to meet you? I have never been there

I agree with Robert Moses. Beautiful. Dunes. Greenery. Lighthouse. Love it!

We did ours in Long Beach. It is a bit of a pain to park this time of year but the beach is beautiful, it had rocks jutting out into the water (My profile pic) and there is a boardwalk that you could take some cute pictures on as well.

We did our engagement pics at Sunken Meadow. Our photography told us to meet him at one of the fields (can't remember now) but we met by the underpass/tunnel for the beach. We took some shots by the water and some shots up by the grass. They came out really nice.
The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the public was in the background of the water shots. We went at a time when it was crowded and you can't avoid them from being in the background. That may not bother you, but if that would, my suggestion would be to find a private beach like Sayville or Wading River. Some of the towns have nice beaches and even though they are private and sometimes need a permit, they usually look the other way when they know it is for an engagement photo. These towns may also have interesting places to take shots. For example, Patchogue harbor has a nice clam shop/snack shop where you could sit outside in front of the stand. It is right near the water. Some of these towns have interesting things like that.........out of the box ideas I guess. Sometimes these can make the most perfect pics.
Just an idea I put out there. Hope this helps a bit.

when we took ours there was literally no on at the beach. in fact, ur photographer was able to take tons of really wide shots because she had a totally clear background all the way to the lighthouse. it was amazing!
we went saturday in may at 10:00am in the morning.

We went to Sunken Meadow about 5:00 during a week night (it was either Tues. or Thurs.) in mid August.............it was packed.
