NEED Help finding a HALL less than a year to go
I Live in Bayridge Brooklyn, I know that our wedding is in less than a year but we need to find a hall that is under 70 a head. We wentwe are getting married on a Weekday so we thought it was going to be much cheaper
We are expecting 300 quest
These are a few places that we went to
Jericho Terrace we really liked this hall and would of probably booked them but they tried to play mind games with us. When we went we told them our budget and he showed us a menu and give us a price. We asked him is there is another menu he said no. We went the next day and met with some lady and she should us different menus! and give is a great price but I just don't trust them.
Rex manor in Brooklyn 85 nice place
Oriental Manor in Brooklyn 85 very hall very nice package but did not like
Swan Club 84 for the platium package which includes a lot If we can bring them down a little it would be great but John said that is the best he can do and he said for 300 quest he could not do but love this hall especially the grounds
Coral house 82 for the highest package that they had but FH did not like the decor but, Had a food tasting and it was great
Chateau Briand 85 with the v hour and five choices
Russo's on the Bay (which was the most expensive one I Love but would not to the whole thing with intro coming out the wall. 105.00 for a regular menu which includes 11 choices but did not include the martini bar and other stuff that we wanted.

Re: NEED Help finding a HALL less than a year to go
If you are on a budget try to cut out some guest so you can get what you want and get a lower prices. My affair is on a Sunday at the swan club and I am getting a wonderful price for the Gold Package.

You may want to try Timberpoint Country Club...it's owned by Lessings you can 'visit' on their website to see if you like the look of the place. It's in Great River...by Oakdale and there's an arboretum closeby where you can take pictures! Good luck!

Re: NEED Help finding a HALL less than a year to go
I've liked the weddings I've been to at Jerricho terrace and chateu Briand and I think those are good prices. Would Russo's bring the price downif you had less choices? I would ask them that.I hear what you're saying about 300people.
I'm so happy half my family lives in Italy and his family lives out here and most wont be coming. We're havign a 'small' wedding wih 150 of my mother's relatives and friends.

I checked a few of the places you mentioned for different dates and the price quotes were a little better but we did not ask about July 2005.
Not sure about your taste or budget. We have not booked but so far have the following quotes (some for 2005 & 2006).
Milleridge Cottage $54 pp Sunday afternoon Jan - Feb 2006 150 minimum guarantee. Very pretty for May. One wedding at a time and a beautiful atrium for the ceremony (or outside if the weather is nice). They include centerpieces and have a pretty big basic menu (2 star). They offer a bigger menu too - 3 star. I loved this place (and the price) but FI did not think it was modern enough after seeing Fox Hollow. They are changing the carpet and wall paper at Milleridge Cottage though. Not sure when. they also have nice outdoor spaces for pics. Plus, it's very easy to find - which FI liked. LOL
Fox Hollow $51 pp for Jan - Feb 2006 Sun afternoon & 160 minimum guarantee for Garden Terrace, 9/4/05 $75 pp for Sunday afternoon. I do not liked the Briar Fox room (for cocktail hour) although I did attend a reception in that room in 2002 which was very nice. The Garden Terrace room is very pertty - Tiffany glass dome over the bride & groom. Great outdoor pics. Again, easy to find for out of town guests.
Floral Terrace $60 pp Feb 2006 125 minimum guarantee, $70 pp for September - November 2005. All Sat/Sun afternoon pricing. We did not like that it's right on the street. The do have valet parking - underground too. One wedding at a time but no sun set pics.
Swan Club 125 minimum for Garden Room & 165 minimum for Camelot Room$ $55 pp for Sat/Sun afternoon in November - $75 pp Sat night November, $55 Sunday night; Jan - Feb $50pp for Sat/Sun aft; $70 pp Sat night & $50 Sun night; Sept/October $65 pp Sat afternoon ; $90 pp at night; $60 pp Sun aft & $65 at night. Up to 3 weddings at a time and VERY chaotic when we visited. A watier had on black jeans on the day we visited which upset FI. I suppose it was so busy that they could not send that employee home to change but it did give FI a bad impression of the place after he was already annoyed by the chaos of having 3 wedding parties leaving around the same time as other were coming in.
Sandcastle $80 pp 2/2006 Sunday afternoon, 140 minimum. Did not like the decor - knights and armor. The ballroom is very pretty though but it is on a main road and we heard street traffic on the day we visited.
Chateau Briand Sept 2005; Sunday afternoon $72pp; Jan - Feb $60 pp Sat/Sun afternoon
125 minimum for smaller room; 175 for larger room (not Da Vinci). Very art deco which we didn't like....and they were to change the decor the week after we visited. Still art deco though and upgrading something (bathrooms?).
Jericho Terrace Sept/Oct 2005 $70 pp Sat/Sun afternoons; Nov $65 pp also afternoons; Jan - Feb 2006 $55 pp afternoons; 150 gurantee for Dome room; 125 for smaller room. Pretty outdoor pic areas but not ceremony or cocktail. We got them down to $55 per person for Monday afternoon 10/10/05 with 150 minimum in the Dome Room and $55 per person with a 115 guarantee for the Skylight Room. Mike Closs is the BM we met and really liked. He even took us on a tour of the kitchen - which was very clean. There are two menus. We only knew about the cheaper menu until I read this site and found out there was a deluxe menu. I asked Mike about it and he said we could pick and choose some items from the Deluxe Menu for the regular price. I think the larger menu has 7 entree choices and the menu we saw (and would have gone with) has 3 entree choices. He threw in a grilled shrimp station too. We both want an outdoor ceremony & cocktail but otherwise we would have booked Jericho Terrace. If you like Jericho, I would try to talk with Mike Closs instead (assuming you have been using someone else). His wife reads this site so I'm sure he will know about this and be willing to work with you.
Russos - 10/10/05 Monday - $77 pp (125 minimum I think?). FI thought the elevator entrance was too 'hollywood'. On a main road with no outdoor space for ceremony or cocktail.
Coral House - September 2005 Sunday afternoon $58 (I think) with like 120 minimum. They have a lot of different rooms to choose from if you have a smaller or larger party. Very busy place - like 3 weddings at once. Pretty lakeside setting and possible outdoor ceremony (weather permitting).
Brentwood Country Club - (only holds about 200 max though) one wedding at a time - package deal $8995 - $11495 (?) which includes EVERYTHING (invites, limos, DJ, photo, video, flowers & reception for 100 people). Add tax and 15& service charge. Additional guests are $55 each. House vendors are included in this package but if you choose not to use them, BCC gives credit i.e. $1,000 for photo if you do not use the house photographer.
Hope this helps
