Need help finding DJ's...

My FH & I have decided that we want to a hire a DJ for our wedding. First, is 18 months too early to hire a DJ?
We are looking for a DJ & a MC. We do not want any lights, hand-outs, dancers, props.
We just want everyone to dance & have a great time. We will have a mixture of music types but we want a lot of dance music to be played at our reception. We are having a 6 hour reception b/c we are having a viennese hour & want people on the dance floor all night!
We are looking for suggestions of good DJ companies. We want a company that isn't too pushy to get people up but have the ability to keep the party going.

I don't think it is to early. We did ours I think 15 months before. I would say call Ralph from High Enegry. We loved him, he was very resonable, and we didn't want lights, or hand outs etc. He was great!

I don't it is early either. We booked ours over 2 years before our wedding. We used Let Us Entertain You. Everyone loved them. Our guests are still talking about our wonderful DJ.

I went to a friends wedding who had Starlight Express as their DJ/MC. They were very good. Kept us on the dancefloor all nite!!!
I also had another friend book them for July/06 wedding so, no its not too early
(not your date either)

I know that you can talk to them and they can do only a DJ/MC. All the others are additional, so if you dont want it, you dont have to. Plus, its more money.

That may be an option for you.

Try Vinny from High Voltage Sounds. He has a lot of great reviews
on here, is very affordable, and has great package
options without all the extras.

I would have to agree with Ralph I have been to 3 weddings were he was the DJ and he was great. I also booked him about a year and a half out and could not be happer after seeing him again in October.

Vinny DJ'd our wedding and I can't say enough great things about him. He was easy to work with and had great prices.

He was the only dj that I met with that listened to me. I, too, did not want lights, etc. as I am having a daytime wedding. Everyone else said no one would have a good time. Hello, I know my family and they are an older crowd. Vinny was the only one who didn't try to sell me something I didn't want.

We are using Tommy Tunes..they have been around forever and have a great reputation...they have packages to suit your needs.

We are having 5 hours ( 1 hr CH included) and a DJ and an MC..no extras as well.

My FH & I met with Jose from Elegancia Entertainment this morning, let me just say that I fell in love with them, they have a lot to offer and great variety of music..and their prices are great!!
