I have to do a paper for school and the topic has to have something to do with high speed networking over the internet. I have no clue what to pick as a topic!! If anyone can help, please let me know - I need a topic this week!
Thanks

Re: Need help from a techie
I am taking a similar class- but already have a topic. Why don't you write about message boards (like this one). You could research a whole bunch, find out different topics and uses, ets.

Re: Need help from a techie
Hmmmm....that might be a thought.
The Professor, however, suggested stuff like this:
1) Analyze the effectiveness of RSVP in IP QoS 2) Analyze the effectiveness of Diffserv in IP QoS 3) Analyze the effectiveness of MPLS in IP QoS 4) Performing Queuing theory analysis of IP phone traffic. 5) Determine the Hurst parameters of Ethernet traffic 6) Analyze an Institutional backbone to determine effective configurations 7) Study the DNS protocol and learn how to do load balancing between several http servers with the same name. 8) Learn about NDS or Active Directory or another directory service and write an application analysis. 9) Identify Firewalls to determine throughput and effectiveness. 10) Analyze SSL code to make a quiz grading program for this class more secure. 11) Analyze different flow control schemes on ATM
My Bachelor's degree is a non-IT degree so this Master's degree is killing me!!

Why not do your paper on networking over the Internet? There are many companies that have various locations that connect their offices together via the Internet. They need to share mail and database servers (as an example). They will use the Internet for some applications and an INTRAnet for others. Let me know how I can help you.
