Please help... I want to switch my car insurance to New Jersey now that my New York policy is up- I know insurance in NJ is a HUGE problem so I wanted to know who everyone used for auto!

All I can say is KEEP THAT CAR IN NY IF YOU CAN. It's unbelievable how much higher the rates are over the river

We use First Trenton-- and the rates are not that bad-- we have 3 cars on our policy and the discount on each car is pretty good-- Good luck What part of NJ are you in? that plays a part too--when we moved to our house the insurance went down!!!

Do you think I should just have DH get a New York license and add him to my policy which is @ my Mom's house?
Would I get caught cause I pay taxes in NJ?

Me too- I have to change my car over next month and am dreading this. My FH uses Liberty Mutual but I think they are pretty high!

We use New Jersey Manufacturers. I think you can use it if you work for certain companies or are in a union.
It is THE CHEAPEST car insurance- it was cheaper than my NY insurance by far. Plus they give you dividends b/c they are not for profit.
You should check it out- definitely, and see if you qualify.

I live in NY now -- but grew up in NJ -- I think my parents recently swiched to allstate-- saying their rates were cheaper.
