My grandfather (my mom's stepdad) passed away last November. It still makes me so upset that he's not going to be at my wedding and I want to do something to honor him. I already have a bouquet charm and I listed his name in the back of the program. I want to also get a memory candle and write something on it. I am having trouble coming up with something... Are there any Irish sayings that I could use? The candle I found on myjeanm.com only allows for 6 lines and I wanted the first to be his name...
HELP.

Re: Need help from the Irish folk...
This is pretty standard but I've always liked it.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Re: Need help from the Irish folk...
The previous saying is a big Irish blessing alright.
But 1 saying i love and it is not really Irish but it is on my Grandmothers Memorial Card is:
'We miss you from your fireside chair, Your loving smile and gentle air, Your vacant place no one can fill, We miss you grandfather and always will.'
This was perfect for my Grandmother as her favorite place was her fireside chair.
Another is
' We lost a Grandfather with a heart of Gold, How much we miss him will never be told, He shared our troubles and helped us along, If we follow his footsteps we will never go wrong'

Don't know if these are Irish or not but...
In my heart your memory lingers,Always tender, fond & true; There’s not a day, dear Grandfather,I do not think of you.
We are sad within our memory,Lonely are our hearts today,For the one we loved so dearlyHas forever been called away.We think of (him)(her) in silence,No eye may see us weep,But many silent tears are shedWhen others are asleep.
He had a nature you could not help loving,And a heart that was purer than gold,And to those who knew him and loved himHis memory will never grow cold.
