I saw the post about the preggo bm and I also need some advice....She is given birth the end of may beginning of june and my wedding is at the end of june....How should I go on ordering her dress...LIke wat do I do with her size because when we would order the dress she is preggo and then she wont be preggo when she is going to wear the dress
My cousin gave birth one month before my wedding. She ordered her dress 2 sizes up and then ordered extra material just in case.
2 sizes up from her normal size should give her enough to work with. She won't have lost the baby weight a month after....some, but def. not all.
so should i measure her now she is like almost 2 mths preggo
I guess order a size larger than she normally is and she can get last minute alterations somewhere.
my sister was preggo when we ordered our BM dresses, and she was delivered my neice by c-section on 2/14/08 and i got married on 3/29/08 and she did have to get some alterations ont he dress but was glad she ordered 1 size bigger, bc she was still a little swollen and sore from teh c section, so she felt very comfy in the dress
I would definitely order a bigger size. This way you can always take in.

my FSIL got pregnant right after we ordered dresses in may - she will be 5.5 or 6 months for my wedding....about 2 weeks before the dresses came in is when she told us she was pregnant - they werent trying, it was a surpriseso that is why we didnt order her a larger size just in case - it was to late to order a new dress b/c they discontinued the dress - so they ordered her extra material and a seamstress will try and make it fit her - but my bridesmaid dress is mermaid style

not sure whats going to happen - we have a month to go and she is def showing - dont worry about - order 2 sizes up and if they need extra fabric you can always have it ordered.....im not stressing over my FSIL's dress - ill let her worry about it, as long as i am not the one pregnant i dont care
same thing with my sister. she gave birth 2 1/2 weeks before my wedding - i measured her when she was 1 1/2 months preggo, and then went up 3 sizes. They were going to get her an 8, I got her a 14. She had a c-section and the dress fit her great - didn't need any alterations.

oh no- thats too bad they discontinued it! Does the same designer make other dresses in the same color? Maybe she could order anther dress thats not as fitted in the tummy area...
I know that my sister, who is very thin (size 4) still looked pregnant for about a month after giving birth. She went from looking 9 months pregnant to 5 months pregnant. So I think 2-3 sizes up is a good idea. Its easier to take in a dress than let it out!
I agree....go up 2-3 sizes from where she is now.....seamstresses can take the dress in up to 2 sizes, so better to order bigger! CONGRATS on soon becoming an aunt!! That is so exciting!
