Need help getting to Staten Island

HI -
I need to get to Staten Island tomorrow from midtown Manhattan (by Grand Central). I can travel around the city but I'm just not sure if I should take the ferry or if there are buses. Someone mentioned the X1 or X3, but I can't tell from the MTA website if they go where I need to go. I may go to a bridal showcase at the Excelsior Grand, 2380 Hylan Blvd.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I would use
mapquest.com

hit in driving directions/click on that and put in where your leaving from and going to

I live in Staten Island and yes you can take the X1. Just tell the driver where your going and ask him to tell you what stop to get off at.

Dont take the ferry, it will just take you so much longer, better off on the X1 (btw $4.00 thanks MTA)
