So I had my gown made and its already done, so its sitting in my mom's house even though the wedding is 4 months away. It has a sash that is gold/champagne/almost peachy colored.
But now I have some antique silver pieces of jewlery I would like to wear on my wedding day, but they would look awful with a gold sash. So I am now contemplating changing the sash to a platinum/silver/grayish color. I also feel like this color sash might match better with my BM dresses that are midnight blue.
The seamstress said she would only charge me $150 to change, but it wouldnt be easy to do.
SO...do i pay the small fee and change it, possibly changing the integrity of the gown(however, I doubt this would happen) or leave it as it is, since i originally loved the gold sash?
I asked FH and he said its hard to tell without knowing the details (cause I just told him I wanted to change 'something' about my gown), but that if I will be thinking about it the whole wedding day and wondering 'what if', I might as well do it.
HELP!!

Re: NEED HELP - GOWN ADVICE
no, i just brought it home and havent taken a pic yet.
Its a mermaid styledress with a sweetheart neckline. Then a sash around my waist that is pinned in the back with a brooch (which is now god, buti would use a silver one), and then has two 'tails' hanging down. Very simple.

Re: NEED HELP - GOWN ADVICE
what if you keep the original sash and change the brooch to silver instead. i think peach goes with silver...doesn't it?

Re: NEED HELP - GOWN ADVICE
if its gold gold like yellowy I would change it if you want to wear the silver. If its more along the lines of champagne and could possible be mistaken for champagne or even ivory colored I dont think you have to change a thing. I remember your post from yesterday about being crazy about colors, etc. I am the same way and I think it can be done as long as it isnt yellowy gold colored. Does that make sense?

Re: NEED HELP - GOWN ADVICE
It does make sense...its more like peachy gold than ivory, so I think I am just going to do it. Especially since now I think FH will be wearing a gray suit - a platinum colored sash would probably match that really well.

Re: NEED HELP - GOWN ADVICE
I just wanted to add that if the dress is as you described it, I have NO idea why it might change the integrity of the dress... if it is pinned or sewed onto the dress, the seamstress can easily remove it and replace it with the silvery colored one.
Good luck!!!

If you love the jewlery and don't mind changing the sash color then yes it is worth it to change it. It sounds like it would be beautiful.
