so i was going to do all inclusive in Aruba, but the airfare just SKYROCKETED and its now overbudget. So i was thinking just a regular hotel..as in not an all inclusive. anyone ever been to aruba??... how much on average did you spend on food each day?

Re: need help! honeymoon over budget!
Aruba is pretty expensive for food/drinks. Lunch usually cost us about $40-50 and dinner was like $100-125, but you can definitely budget b/c they are so many places! We had a drink or 2 with our meals b/c I mean we were on vacation

I have a timeshare in Aruba and you can definitely eat on the island reasonably for lunch and breakfast and maybe just splurge for dinner

Also, if you're looking at airfare - keep an eye on the Jet blue prices they go up and down all of the time. I'm booked one way right now for our timeshare week beginning 1/6/2013 on Jet Blue and the flight was 233.00 per person.

I found Aruba to be similar to NYC in prices. We didn't spend a lot for food during the day since we were on the beach most of the time. You can find little places for light lunches and it's not too crazy in price, around $10-$20 pp. Dinners were a little splurgy and it also depends on how much you're drinking at dinner. We don't share bottles of wine and just have a couple drinks and then go out after, which cuts down on the restaurant bill.

Have you spoken to a travel agent about your HM? You may want to reach out and see what kind of deal you can get. Maybe they can hold off booking air until it goes down and you can still go where you wanted? I used travel tom, he was great. [email protected]

We stayed at the Bucuti and loved it. Its very small and quiet and super romantic. Breakfast is included daily. You can also look into the Aruba Dine Around program - not exactly sure how it works because we didn't do it, but there is a list a restaurants that you can use the passes at and it winds up being about $37 per person for dinner
