Need help ladies-RD place in Nassau??? 2part question
Well, its been left to me and FH to pay and held the Rehearsal dinner. Not happy about that and the added extra stress. Since we are paying, Im looking for a place near Bethpage that is or around $30/pp and under w/good food....any suggestions?
ALSO: We found a place that is not close to my church..since its a friend, he is offering us a great deal and we know the food is great but I feel its not right to have people trek to Bethpage then Island Park.
What do u think? Is that ok?
TIA!

We are having our rehearsal in Queens and likely teh Rd will be on Long Island...prob about 15-20 minute drive from the church...I don't think its a big deal to have ppl drive, just as long as they aren't going too far...

To us it totally depended on the night of the week. Our RD was on a TUESDAY (so bad), so we really had to have it close to the church! Island Park is a trak and the only prob with that is the parking.......some restaurants are BK Sweeney's, Popei's Clam Bar (alittle cheesy, but really good food and fun atmosphere), H.R. Singleton's, Arthur Avenue (yum!).....just a few ideas.
Good luck!

I don't know the Bethpage area, but I do think that Bethpage to Island Park is a long trip and the potential to get lost is pretty good if people are not familiar with the area around Island Park. If you have all locals, than it probably would be OK.

Debbie, I don't even know where Island Park is, so I think that is too far!
We had ours at the Maine Maid Inn in Jericho, but our church was actually in Hicksville.
We also looked into Singletons, Peppercorns & Wickers. Our problem was not enough people for a private room, to many for a table, ( on a Friday) but they may work for you.
There is also Domenicos in Levittown or the Milleridge Inn in Jericho.
We didn't looka t B.k Sweenye , even though it is right by my parent's house, b/c I still think of it as a local hangout , but I'm sure most people from HS would have moved on by now!
It's really cloae to St. Martin's though!

Yes, I think asking them to travel from Bethpage to Island Park is way too far

Re: Need help ladies-RD place in Nassau??? 2part question
i think someone else posted thias already - but we had our rehearsal dinner at sergios in massapequa on merrick road and we couldnt say enough about the place - it was about 20 a person which included unlimited beer, wine and soda - and like ten choices for meals, a pasta and an appetizer --
the owner michael was so great to work with, even after we had to change the date because of the church, and they have a private room
definaitely look into it
i just loked up the menu we had
appetizers Garlic Bread and choice of Garden Salad with House Dressing orHomemade Minestrone Soup
entree choices Chicken Mushroom Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Franchise, Stuffed Eggplant Parmigiana, Veal Parmigiana, Filet of Sole Francese, Shrimp Parmigiana Penne A la Vodka, 2 Fish of the Day
Side Dish of Spaghetti Marinara
also for about 2 dollars a more you could add a hot appetizer like baked clams
hope this helps

I definetly think Bethpage to Island Park is a lot to ask people.
I also agree with checking in to BK Sweeneys or Singleton's. If you don't find anything you like around there what about the Huntington area that is pretty close and lots of choices there.

Yum - this sounds delicious!!!
I just had my RD on Sunday in Syosset at La Viola. We did everything italian family style which can really cut down on the price if you don't over-order. Also really good in Syosset is Cafe Testarosa. It isn't too far from Bethpage. I think asking people to go to Island Park is a little far... Especially if it is raining, etc. Good luck!!!

I had my RD at Montego Bay. The food was great and so was the service (but I'm biased b/c I work there. You could look into RVC there are a bunch of nice places there. Or some one mentioned Pomodorinos in Seaford thats only 30 minutes away from us in IP and their food is yummy too.
