just wondering if I could get your opinion on a 'vegetarian' dish. what do you think sounds the best or you think you'd like the best or least?

Personally, I like the mushroom. I'm just concerned about vegetarians who don't like or are allergic to mushrooms or don't want a heavy dish.

personally, i think the mushroom torte sounds the best but if you happen to have a vegetarian that doesn't eat mushrooms, they are out of luck for dinner. the other two might give more options, in that they could pick out something they might not eat. just trying to think of all options...

I like the mushrooms- sounds delish But alot of people are allergic to mushrooms so I would do the veggi lasagna

I love polenta -- that actually sounds like a really good vegan option too (assuming they don't make it with butter). I personally love mushrooms, but I know a lot of veggies who don't eat them. The mushroom dish sounds delicious but extremely heavy with the cream and cheese too.
Then again, most vegans who go to weddings don't really expect there to be a dish they can enjoy, so I guess that's not too much of a worry.
Now I want to go cook some polenta later... see what you did!

You can do SO MUCH with polenta!
If you chill it in a shallow pan in the fridge, you can cut it into 'chips'...broil them and top them with some veggie chili...OMG, delish.
Didn't you tell me that you never really had hummus either? Or was that someone else?

Kris I think you need to make us a vegetarian cookbook. My brother is a a vegetarian and I never know what to make when he comes over for dinner!!!!

Aww, that's so sweet! Were you at the 2010 shower? I put a veggie pot-pie recipe in the cookbook favor that is SO GOOD. Everyone I know loves when I make it!

OH awesome!! I am going to make that the next time he comes over. He also gave me a book to read called 'Eating Animals' but I haven't been able to bring myself to read it yet...

I am not a vegetarian, but I would choose the polenta dish. Sounds scrumptious!!
The mushroom torte sounds delish too, but as many of the ladies have mentioned not everyone loves mushrooms.
As for the lasagna, I just find that to be a safe choice that I think most vegetarians are sick of seeing as a choice on a menu. JMO

i picked the lasagna ... i actually would prob eat the mushroom torte over the lasagna but there are A LOT of people who dislike or are allergic to mushrooms (like my FH) so i wouldn't put that on the menu.
