need help opinions from preggo's or mommies or ttc'ers
We are due in Sept. My dh is going to be doing a fellowship out of state for one year from July to July. We will be moving at the end of June. I do not think I will be able to find work right away b/c I have a very strenous job (physical therapist for stroke patients).... Both sets of parents live on Long Island.
So we have options
A. I move out at end of June, and hang out for there months... I may go crazy( right now I work 6 days a week)
B. I live with parents, move out in August, so I can work a little more and not have 3 months of down time
C. I stay and move out after birth, big problem with this one is there is a chance dh won't be there for birth( we are going to St. louis mo for year), which I can't imagine. Plus for this one is that I could work till end and I would get 3 months maternity, plus 3 months salary that I would have since I would be here prior....
We are torn, we are always together 10 days was our longest time apart. Any opinions

Re: Long Story Big Choice.
It's nice to have options
It sounds like you have to weigh how important that income is vs. not being together. Good luck with your choice.

Re: Long Story Big Choice.
Can you do physical therapy for a less- serious condition? Maybe then you could find work?
I guess it depends on how much you need your salary also. That might determine which option is best.
I would miss Scott to much, but then again I have never been so far away from everyone else that I know. Tough decision.

Re: Long Story Big Choice.
Do you thinkg they will not let your DH come over to NY for the Birth?
can't he leave for just 3 days or so? But a standing by ticket or whatever it's called when you can leave a t any moment?

We are comfortable with a good amount in savings for house{which I would rather not use} but without me working we will be on one salary for a year as opposed to 6 months b/c i have great maternity coverage. So we would be living on a budget

Re: need help opinions from preggo's or mommies or ttc'ers
From a TTC point of view and if my budget allowed it, I would choose option A for a few reasons:
1. Option 3 would make me much too nervous about my hubby not being around for the birth. Even with a standing ticket, I may go early or there may be a problems with the flight (weather etc.) and I could not imagine hubby not being there for the birth of our first child. The possibility of something going wrong would drive me insane.
2. I would not want to be without my DH for the final months of my pregnancy and I would not want him to miss those moments either. I think the separation would be very stressful.
3. Moving to a new city, there would be things to keep me occupied like setting up the baby's room, setting up the new house/apartment and exploring St. Louis which may make the 3 months go by a bit more quickly. I would also research some mommy groups in the area to perhaps join after the baby arrives.
This is obviously only my opinion. Do what is right for you and hubby and the
Good luck

Thanks for the advice, at this stage, I will stay at least until August 1.... We are going to talk to my doc and see how late she will let me fly... I can't imagine not having him around at the end and worring like a crazy women that he might not make it.... But things are subject to change
