Need Help!!! Photography

So I was in NY this weekend trying to find a photographer. Before I left I did my research and called 29 places for prices, looked at all the webstes and narrowed it down to 5 that I visited this weekend. So out of the five I liked Patken the best. There prices are reasonable and in my budget, but I am a little uneasy about this 11 photographer...dontknow which one you are getting thing till after you sign. I know they keep saying that I can cancel with full refund up tp 6 months before the weddign but that sounds too good to be true....

Anyone have any advice or comforting words. I think because photography is so important to me I may be overly nervous about picking someone.

photography was the most important thing for me - i agree with you not knowing who you get isnt a good thing - you want to have someone that you have a good feeling about - someone who you can talk with and discuss things
i would keep looking.

When I saw Patken, they told us we could meet our photographer before booking them.
We didn't go with them for other reasons, but I definitely remember them telling us we could know our photographer before booking.

I was so comfortable with my photo/video company, I knew I wanted them before I even got engaged!!!!!

After I booked, I wanted to do an engagement shoot to confirm. I just took the pics yesterday, so we'll see....

BTW: I am using Bliss Productions and Jerry and Mark are completely amazing, and they are so easy to work with..try them, it nevers hurts to call.

Maybe I will bring that up when I go back.. They said if I wasnt comfortable with the photographer then I could cancel...so maybe I will give it a try. There work is beautiful, just the right amount of comtemporary and traditional (which is what I want)

I guess it is hard when you dotn know anyone whose used them....but then again I dont know anyone whose used anyone (First to get married on LI)

bump....no opinions on Patken????? Thats not a good sign.

Anyone know anything about them (people who have used them)?????
