Need help PLEASE-- BIG Rehearsal Dinner

My rehearsal dinner is going to be between 58 and 62 people. I am having a tough time finding a reasonably priced place that can hold that many people on a Saturday night. (I am getting married on a Sunday.)

I'm looking to spend no more than $40 a person. I'm getting married at the Woodlands in Woodbury. My guests will be staying in Plainview or Melville (We didn't decide on the hotel yet). We're looking to have the rehearsal dinner in Nassau.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated? TIA!!!!

-garden city hotel - way too much $
-Fox hollow/matteos/la parma/Mims- can't fit us
-Millridge Inn/George Washington Manor/Fox Hollow Inn - will be $50 minimum with tax, etc.

Our RD was under $40 pp (including tax and tip) and we did ours at the Melville Marriott. It was a three-course meal, but we decided to forgo the alcohol to keep costs down. We only had 24 people, but they could've accommodated many more.

Re: Need help PLEASE-- BIG Rehearsal Dinner

the rehearsal dinner was really stressful for us, because FH whole family is from OOT. Since they weren't sure exactly who was going to be coming yet, we weren't really sure of a number.

We ended up booking a KofC hall, and then once we have a better number we are going to order the food. We figured that this way, it can be casual, and it doesn;t matter right now who is bringing a date, or if his aunt is coming from FLA.

the KofC is pretty cheap, and then we can spend whatever we want on food.

Have you tried Cafe Testarosa in Syosset? Or La Familigia in Plainview? Now that I think about it...I would contact La Familigia first...I know they have a private room.
