My eyebrow hair (only one eyebrow) is falling out, I have a 'bald spot' on it . Also, I have a bald spot on the back of my head now. Luckily, I have so much hair that you can't see it unless you poke around to find it (like a hairdresser does when styling/cutting). I feel fine. No headaches, nothing out of the ordinary but these two symptoms.
Any feedback?

One of my BM's has the same thing in the back of her head but it has been almost a year and it is a very large bald spot. The doctor said it isdo to stress they may also call it Allopecia (i don't know how to spell it) The doctor can give you cream or shots but my BM is scared of doctors so she has let it go and it is getting worse. If you go to the doctor it definately can behelped. Good Luck

Hi there, being the doctor of the group (just graduated two weeks ago), i couldn't resist but answer. What you have is alopecia. There are many reasons why you could have it. It is best to see a dermatologist to see if they can figure out whtat the cause is and provide the appropriate treatment. Causes may include stress, hormonal, metabolic (thyroid disease), autoimmune disease or infectious. A doctor can prescribe topical ointments that may help. I definitely suggest you see a dermatologist. I hope this helps.

My MIL discovered the same thing happening to her about 8-10 months ago. 1 tiny bald spot on her head turned into 4 in a month.
She saw her derm, and he diagnosed her with alopecia. He prescribed a cortisone/steroid cream. She applied the cream exactly as she was supposed to, but it just didn't work. She received a series of cortizone/steroid shots directly in the affected area, and now, about 8 months later, there's regrowth in all of the bald spots.

It happened to my sister and it was due to her eyes. She was studying a lot without good lighting and was stressing her eyes. Although she had perfect vision, she needed to wear supportive lenses.
I would suggest going to the doctor. It could be a fungus also.
THank you all so much. I have a friend with Allopecia and pretty much figured it was the cause but I guess I was hoping that it may be something less serious. I won't do steriod shots because I will gain too much weight. :( I don't know what I am going to do just yet.
