Need help. Sat. (Swan Club) Fri (Watermill, Chat. Briand)

I need major help. I am completely exhausted from shopping around for halls, and going along with the budget, these are my options. Let me start by saying all my life I dreamed of having a Saturday wedding, but now, some of my options are Fri weddings. My first option is a Saturday wedding at the Swan Club on April. With the cocktail hour I would upgrade to the seafood boat. Second option is Chateau Briand on a Fri in March. Third is a Fri in March at the Watermill. Any opinions? THANKS

Well, I've never been to the Swan Club, so I can't help you there. : ) BUT... I've been to many weddings and other occaisions at both Chateau Briand and the Watermill, and all things being equal, my choice would be Chateau Briand. I like their food and cocktail rooms better. There's my vote, for what it's worth. : ) On the other side of the situation, calm down! No matter where you have your reception, your wedding will be magnificent, just because it is yours, and your guests will have a great time because they are celebrating YOU! Relax, have a glass of wine, and repeat that until you feel better. : )

I looked in to the Swan Club in April, and although it may not be warm enough to hold an outdoor cocktail hour, the grounds at that time of year are absolutely beautiful with all the tulips on bloom. I haven't been to either of your other two choices, but the Swan Club would be really nice.

I chose Chateau Briand. I wasn't crazy about the rooms at the Swan Club. I thought the watermill was nice, but a bit too far out in LI. To me, CB is beautiful. Just my two cents

I used Chateau Briand for my wedding, and let's just say that my guest were beyond impressed. I looked at the Swan Club, and I wasn't impressed with their menue. However, I must say that they have beautiful grounds. Good luck in our decision.

We booked the Swan Club. We just loved everything about it ,and was very reasonable pricing. good luck with finding one!!!

CB Excellent choice

Looked at SC, definitely too far, but beautiful grounds indeed. I like the flexibility and the variety of the menu at CB. You made a great choice. Happy planning

Chateau Briand

We looked at CB as well, and I remember being very impressed with their menu. It seemed like the service would be top-notch as well. I don't really think you could go wrong here! Good Luck to you.

I have been to a number of affairs here and it is beautiful and affordable...as for the food...my FH said the salmon was the best wedding salmon he ever had...

I booked the Chateau Briand for my wedding in august. We also booked a friday because of the big difference in price.

Well, I looked at all three. I wasn't very impressed with the Swan Club. I think it needs a facelift. I think CB and the Watermill are very nice. If you pick either one, you are sure to have an excellent wedding because they are both Scotto Brothers! For what it's worth, i am not fond of coming up out of the floor in CB nor the champagne toast that they do with the parents, therefore I would like Watermill!

My opinion and taste is that the Watermill is more elegant and classier and the CB has the chandelier 'look', which I did not want.

I didn't hear anything about a champagne toast at Chateau briand? What is that?

When I went to CB the man took my sister and me into his office and went over the menu and the other stuff. He explained to us that after the first dance, the bride and grooms parents are called to the front of the room and each are poured champagne in front of everyone. Then someone asks the parents if the champagne is acceptable and a whole song and dance is done with the waiters and waitressers pouring champagne in everyones glass. I feel that that is a waste of time! I do not mean to insult anyone, it is just not my taste.

You can tell the CB that you are not interested in the chapagne dance that they do and they will eliminate it. We are not doing it. The CB is a very elegant facility. It reminds me of a cruise ship. Also, you don't have to come up from the floor. You can come in the traditional way. It is all about what you want. It is your day after all. I am sure the watermill is noce also but we didn't visit them. We were looking for something in nassau. We did visit the Swan Club and I was not impressed.
