Need help----shall I invite my Director to the wedding???---long sorry

So, I have been debating if I shall invite certain co-workers. I have been working for the same non-profit organization for about 5 1/2 years and was in the process of looking for a new job when FH proposed 9 months ago. I decided to stay in the job because it offered me the flexibility to plan my wedding and earn a good income. At the time he proposed, everything was OK at the office so the decision to stay seemed to be a good one. I had a civil and somewhat close relationship with my Director. However, my Director and the Supervisor (both were promoted due to luck....nobody else to fill the position and they had seniority) are extremely close. I am a hard working person and do not like to slack....they are both lazy. So, I had an issue because the Supervisors work was delying mine and I spoke my mind about it to the director and the supervisor in a meeting between the three of us. I was not rude, but was firm.

That happened in November of last year, and apparently was the 'icing on the cake' for my Director. I had noticed previous to that meeting that she was becoming a little jealous of me since my FH and I became engaged in August. At first, I did not think it was jealousy but maybe something I said. But other people in the organization were telling me it was jealousy and that she even said things about me. I mean...the lady did not even congratulate me when I got engaged!!! When everyone else in the office was like so happy for me. I like to dress well all the time and she always makes comments about that!! She tries to embarass me in front of senior executives in the organization. She even makes comments about my weight. She comments on my FH's work because he makes more money than her husband (by the way...the fourth). She met him in Jamaica and three months later married him (that was less than a year ago). Everything I do,...she had done it before and better according to her. I mean come on lady...you are only 3 years older than me!!! She had even told me that I am trying to be white (I am PuertoRican) because I only dated caucausian guys. It is a matter of choice; I am international!!!. She is Puerto Rican as well and was like....I only date my kind!!!! MY FH is Greek/Italian, so what!!! I am still me, nobody defines me, but me. She even told me one day to take full advantage of him because my relationship will probably not last like it happened to her.... MY GOD!!! the nerve!!! To top it all....she had asked me if I had booked my honeymoon and I told her we were not certain about going to Mexico yet, so we were going to wait and a month later she booked her Mexico vacation for the end of May.

All of this stuff had happened since November and has progressively gotten worst. The thing is....they can't fire me because I am their best worker and other organizations praise my job....plus, I am union!!!
It has come to the point that other organizations have requested me to train their people because they love me. (we train people in other organizations) Some organizations have actually requested that nobody else be sent.

As a matter of fact, I am having a meeting with them and an union rep for an incident that happened this week. I amso sick and tired of this. Maybe I am making a bid deal about nothing, but I do not need the streess. I leave it alone, but they just keep on it via e-mail or messages. There is a lot more to it...but I will write for days!!!

So, I think I am about to leave the organization!!! A new job opened up in another organization and was offered to me. They have promissed the job ( I have done 3 interviews with them) and I will start in September when the new contract is signed by the organization. The thing is....we don't know if is definite that the organization will get the money for the position Regardeless, once we come back from our honeymoon, I will be looking for a new job (if this one does not work out) and will be out of there. I can't stand her!!! S

Shall I invite her???? I will still have to work with her at least a month after I come back from my honeymoon.

I am also debating inviting my supervisor because although not as aggressive as my Director, she does her bidding and creates waves.

Also, my director hired her 'hushy mama', ghetto living cousin from the Bronx, and she is already acting like the supervisor and the director.

I don't think I should invite any of them. Well, the 'hushy mama' definetely not!!! But, I have worked with my Director and Supervisor for 51/2 years!!! Also, I was a BM in my Director's 3 wedding and my daughter was her flower girl about 4 years ago ; (

What do you think? Should I invite them?
Any advise on how to handle the situation at work?
I am not that young (I am over 35), and can 'hold' my own. I can cause her a lot of damage through the union, but I am not that kind of person. I don't gain happiness by giving someone else misery.

OH, I will be inviting other co-workers who have been there for me and I truly love.......

I will be inviting our ex administrative assistant,

the print shop director (who made my invites for free---I supplied the materials and did the design),

my ex co-worker who went to a different departemetn in the organization and we became great friends (she was going to be a BM, she will be 8 mos prego the day of but she is having complications with her pregnancy)

I don't think you should invite your Director to your wedding. Its supposed to be a happy day for you to spend with the ones you love. You shouldn't feel like you have to invite someone who is rude to you.

i would NOT invite her - and like you even said shes jealous of you, no need to feel uncomfortable or anything less than 10000000% happy on that day, and your only going to work with her for a month after the wedding, to have her there just to ease the tension is not going to do you any good - shes not treating you that nicely now...

I wouldn't invite either of them. And if the Director asks why - tell her. You've been frank with her about everything else! Tell her you didn't think she'd want to go due to the UNsupportive comments she's made and you thought perhaps the thought of you marrying outside of 'your people' would upset her.

i am keeping business separate from personal.....
no coworkers or bosses or anyone from work is invited....i think this is a time to celebrate with friends and family, which can be dramatic enough without a jealous director there too

I know how you feel about superiors who don't deserve to be there, I'm available if you ever need to vent...

... oh and don't invite them !! Who cares what they say/do that last month, you have more than survived up to this point

I would not invite them either! Your wedding day is supposed to be the HAPPIEST day of your life and you do not want them to do/say anything to ruin it! If their feelings are hurt well too bad because you wont be working there much longer!!!

IF you are definitely leaving (whether now or in a few months) and you have secured a recommendation from another coworker or client, there is nothing to salvage and there is no need to invite her.

It's bad enough you have to work with her, enjoy your day without the stress!

I wouldn't invite anyone who you will feel would not appreciate the invite or who wasn't happy for you when you got engaged.
