need help w/ church situation

My fiance is Greek and I am Catholic but not practicing at all. I agreed to get married in the Greek Orthodox church and I figured I would get a priest who is a family friend to do a portion of the ceremony. Now, the family friend can not do it and I am not affiliated with any other Catholic priests but I would like to have an interfaith cermony. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not a member of another church so I feel weird calling and asking someone to come to another curch. It doesnt have to be a Catholic priest it could be a different type of minister. Any ideas?

Chrissy, I am having THE hardest time finding a methodist minister to perform my ceremony. My FI and I are getting married at the reception and not in a church. He's methodist, I'm catholic and greek but not-practicing for both. Good Luck to you, please let me know if you have luck. I originally was trying for a catholic priest but was told that they can't perform outside of the church unless it's interfaith (meaning 1 person is Jewish).

need help w/ church situation-CHRISSY

Chrissy, if you want a priest, a priest will marry you if your considered interfaith. just call any church. I had a reaaly down to earth priest. very cool. He is at st.james rc church in seaford, sorry i don't have the #. if that doesn't work out, try looking in Long Island wedding pages, they always advertise for ministers, and clergy etc. Good Luck!
