My wedding is at 2 pm on a Saturday. I'm wondering If I should get rooms put aside for both Friday and Saturday since my wedding is at 2 guests won't be able to check in until after the wedding. Anyone else have this dilemma??
Even if official check-in is not until 3pm (or whenever) hotels will still let your guests check in early. There are usually hotel rooms already available (from underbookings the night before or early check outs). Otherwise, the hotel will hold you guests' luggage for them until they can get the room. If you book a block for the night before and nobody books the rooms for that night, then the hotel will release the rooms to the public a month before your wedding anyway.
Yep, although my wedding reception is from 6:00-12:00, my ceremony is at 2:30 and half my guests are from wayyy out of state. So I am blocking both Friday night and Saturday night.
I blocked rooms for both Friday and Saturday. My church is at 3 and the CH starts at 7. Check-in is at 4.
It doesn't cost you anything, so go for it. If people don't book Friday, they will just let them go a month before or so.
