Need Help with a Bridesmaid issue

Ok here is the story. My FH tells me last night that he would like to ask one of his good girl friends (who is also a friend of mine) to be in the bridal party. Now I did think about putting her in, but since he did not mention it, I just thought that he did not want her in it. (Traditionally, he thought that it was the bride only who chooses who would be in it).

The problem is, we already ordered the bridesmaids dresses in late april. They still have not come in yet.

The question is, have any of you had any last minute additions to your bridal party? and if so did you order the gowns a bit later than the others? My wedding is in 3 months from now, late october.

(of course I am going to call the bridal salon today for info, but I thought I would get some advice from you girls first, or if you could share some of your experiences with me)

Please help!
TIA!

Re: Need Help with a Bridesmaid issue

It depends on the designer of the dresses but I just added a bridesmaid a couple of weeks ago and the dress is coming in the 2nd week of August with a rush charge. So it came in about a month. With 3 months left you should definitely be fine.

Re: Need Help with a Bridesmaid issue

I had a last minute addition to my BMs. I called the salon and they were able to add a dress to my order, a couple of months after our original order. However, it just so happened that my order was being cut the following day so I had to estimate her size ( ) to give to them and they cut an extra one. I wanted it to be from the same dye lot to ensure the dresses would all be the same color. I would give the shop a call and see if they are able to do it! Good luck.

If not...maybe you would consider having her stand up on FH's side...then she can wear a different dress?
