Need help with a location for my fall wedding next year!

I was wondering where I can have my rustic fall wedding next October. I'm really into barns and historical sites. I'm having about 145 guests. Just like every bride I am on a tight budget. I've looked at everything in the vineyards and east end and everything is out of my price range. I also want to avoid catering halls. I want to keep the site fee under 2,000$. I've considered the bates house in setauket but can't get myself to 'settle' on it. I also really love the George weir barn in Lloyd harbor, but you have to get porta Potties and that's gonna be difficult with my guests. My fiancé is also making it difficult cause he does not want to go outside Long Island (basically no further than Nassau) ah I need help! Lol I've been searching everything and I can't find anything. I'm afraid ill get to the point where I'll become too stressed and settle with something I'm not 'crazy about' just because it 'works'. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!!!

I was going to suggest going upstate or to Connecticut - Litchfield county is BEAUTIFUL in the fall and will have places like you want. Maybe take fiance on a road trip and he might change his mind?

try the woodlands in woodbury, it's not your typical hall and it's a historical site with no site fee, beautiful in the fall, thatched cottage was nice as well.

We were looking at a similar situation. We ended up at Three Village Inn in Stony Brook. It had that quaint historic feel and wasn't a typical wedding hall. I'm not sure how many people it can hold but we are having 100-120.

I had my at the Three Village Inn and myself and my guests loved it, loved everything about it. I did not feel like i was on long island and there cottages were great.

I've been hearing so much about three village. Is it a catering hall? And do you have to pay pp? I thought it would be cheaper to do it at a place that's unique and requires a site fee this way I can get a caterer in and make it a DIY wedding..... I really don't know if that would be more cost effective. Thanks everyone for replying so soon!!!!!!!

I thought the Woodlands was very expensive ($125pp++) but it's very beautiful. Have you thought about renting a house on the east end? There are some lovely mansions that might be what you are looking for.

The Riveria has a very rustic feel to it. And is priced pretty reasonably. (It's a catering hall though). Depending on your vision it may be cheaper to do a catering hall then a site. If you want to have a formal wedding you will need to rent EVERYTHING (Linens, china, napkins, tent, dance floor, lighting, servers, etc.,)

Other suggestions (not sure on pricing) Nassau County Museam of Art and The Foundry in Long Island City

Its a hall but not your typical venue. Has a very intimate feel to it. You do pay pp but i thought there price was reasonable. I took full advantage of there venue. I stayed 2 nights in there cottages. Night before with my girls, got ready there on the day of and stayed the night of my wedding. Felt like a mini vacation.

i think DIY is more expensive on long island . you have to bring in tables/ tents/ linens/ chairs/ plates etc etc i heard it costs $8-10K just for that.

We looked at Three Village Inn and ultimately chose The Riviera because of the outside grounds (it is directly overlooking the Great South Bay) & the cathedral ceilings inside. Another deciding factor was that TVI would only serve 2 kinds of beer
(Bud & Coors Light- I think) and that just didn't click with our party. I think both have that rustic feel but again they are both catering halls.
