Need Help with After Party!

Please give me some ideas on where I can have the 'after party'.

I'm not from Long Island, I'm from Queens and I'm not sure what places are open late. My reception is at The Woodlands in Woodbury and will last until 1:00 am.
Preferably not too far from the Woodlands.
A bar or even a hotel bar/lounge that is open later than 2:00 am.

are you blocking rooms at a hotel for your guests? if so then alot of ppl do an after party at the hotel bar

Thanks I’ll try that website.

The Woodlands does not offer an after party package and I checked a couple of hotels in the area that have bars but they close at 2 am.

are you looking for a club/bar to go to after and just party with some of your guests? if so i can suggest places if thats what you want to do. Or do you want a private area just for you and your guests to rent out for an after party?

I just went on that website and saw BK Sweeneys in Bethpage which is right where my brother just bought a house last week. And it's not too far from the Woodlands
That may work.
Any other suggestions?

I am not positive, but I think they told us at the Woodlands that you can pay to keep the bar/grill room open after the wedding. I don't remember how much they said it would cost or how late they would keep it open, but you may want to call and look into it.

Try to find a hotel nearby that has a bar! thats what we're doing.

Also close by the woodlands, Four Food Studio, Crazy Donkey, 56 Fighter Group (these are all on Route 110 in Melville.

Or, there's several local bars in Syosset, Woodbury.

I also know a new bar opened up at the Huntington Hilton on Route 110 (Fuse).

So I am in the SAME situation as you! I however am getting married NYE at teh Woodlands...
They will stay open for you for an additional hour.....there is a bartender fee and then $10 bucks a person and you ahve to guarantee 1/3 of your guests staying.....and that is for 1 hour additional (remember though you probablty won't have your band/DJ)

I contacted Speranza as I am having my guests stay at The Best Western right there but the restaurant isn't open yet so I don't know how that is going to work out......

Bethpage bars or going into Huntington may work for you....I don't want anyone driving so I'll probably whind up extending the party at the Woodlands and doing something low key back at the hotel.

someone i work with had her after party at a bar in huntington, (finnegans)... at the end of the reception they had rented a bus to take whoever wanted to go from the RH to the bar (and had the dj make the announcement), this sounds like something i may look into as well! and everyone had a blast.

you should contact your hotel. Ask your hotel if there is an area you can use for your guests to gather at. They my have a area. Then just delegate a bridesmaid or groomsmen to go to the liquor store for you guys the night before or 2 nights before, and pick up alcohol and mixers. Ive heard of a buynch of people who have done this after their weddings to savde some money. Have another BM bring their ipod with a party playlist and an ipod speaker, and use that to play music. If you need cups, go get plastic that look like glass, or those plastic champagne glasses (they sell them at michaels!) and you can even ask like the rest of your BM to make you pastries to have for then (in case people are hungry for snacks!)
