1. fillet mignon 2. a chicken breast dish 3. eggplant pomodoro 4. breaded fillet of sole
I have the option of adding 2 extra dishes for a small fee. The 2 extra choices are
1. white tiger shrimp 2, double cut grilled pork chop
My friends are adamant about me sticking to the 4 choices. They say 'most guests dont even like white tiger shrimp!! and what if they get sick? and porkchops are unnecessary since the menu already has filet mignon..
so now I am all lost..should I listen to my friend or just add the 2 extra dishes?

Stick with the four choices. Not everyone likes seafood or pork. I have to keep telling myself this about seafood and mushrooms because my RH has so many yummy options with those two items

I would stick with the 4. Your 4 dishes have something for everyone.

Never mind, I'm retarded. I was thinking this was for your rehearsal for some reason.
How much extra is it to add the 2 options?

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
its $ 6 per person if I add both, or just $ 3 if I want to add just 1 of the dishes..
I am on the fence because I LOVE shrimp, but my friends said I am nuts for adding the dishes because 4 entrees is plenty of choices, considering I have cocktail hour, then salad, and then a sorbet dish offered before the entrees come out.

I would just stick with the first 4 choices, its more than enough and you have basically everything covered. a meat, chicken, fish, and veggie entree.

I'd just stick with the 4. Those are basic dishes, covers all ground (meat eaters, fish eaters, vegetarians), and your guests will be happy. Save yourself the $$

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
I'd stick with the 4 as well. You have your four main core groups: beef, vegetables, fish and white meat. So there's something there for everyone.
The 2 extra is unnecessary especially because you have to pay extra for it.

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
Stick with the 4 dishes and save the money for your honeymoon or something you will need for the home.. After it is all said and done, nobody will go hungry and nobody will remember if you had porkchops on the menu in a year...so don't stress....

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
Trust me - 4 is enough. With CH and 4 options and then dessert, it's plenty. Don't waste your money on something people may not even take advantage of.
ETA: if you really want shrimp and/or pork, make sure you have a variety of those dishes at CH....i.e. shrimp cocktail and maybe roast pork at your carving station.
ETA again - also I understand that you said you really like shrimp, but you're barely going to eat at your wedding. Trust me. I said I was going to make it a point to eat. Well I had some CH food in the bridal suite, then my salad and maybe 4 bites of my dinner. It's not worth the upgrade if it's just because you like it and will want it. What I'd recommend is seeing if the hall can give just you or just you and your DH the shrimp dish at no charge. We got a surf and turf upgrade just for DH and I thrown in because we both said we wanted it so bad. Too bad we both barely touched it.

I agree that the first 4 sounds great. If youre still craving shrimp even after CH use the money you saved to go out for a big shrimp dinner on your HM

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
I personally would keep just the 4 choices. It sounds like you have a good variety already and why pay the extra $$ if you don't have to?

Re: Need help with deciding on RH Menu
I'd stick to 4. $6 a person adds up fast. if YOU really love shrimp and want shrimp for your entree, then just get that one extra dish. But don't feel obliged to get EVERYTHING for the guests.
They won't know, and they won't notice.
