Need Help with FG/RB

Ok Girls, I need help with my Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. Originally, I was not going to have either. But the more I think about it, the more I want my cousin’s kids to be the fg and rb. I was talking to my mom about this last night, and she was saying how possibly my other cousin who has a little girl and little boy would be offended that we didn’t ask them. I don’t see how they would be offended. I am not really close with the 2nd cousin’s kids, but am definitely closer with the 1st cousin’s kids. What do you girls think?

I am having the same problem! We agreed no FG/RB, for a couple of reasons:

-all the kids are invited, and if we single out two for FG/RB, the others are likely to get jealous. and the parents are likely to flip out too!

-we would be expected to pay for the FG/RB dress/tux, shoes, etc. my last name is not rockefeller.

FMIL was just talking about how cute her grandaughter would be as FG- we hadn't told her that we decided on not having one. this is after we told FH's goddaughter that we arent having a FG. goddaughter will freak out if she sees granddaughter as FG.

I asked Fh to tell his mom we aren't having an FG. I just don't feel like getting in the middle of it.

This is a tough one...

You have to be delicate with things like this. i don't think it is about kids getting offended, I think it is about their parents getting offended!!

Make sure you communicate with EVERYONE what is going on or else competitions start and feelings get hurt. As long as you are strightforward about things, no mone can blame you for your choices.

good luck!

Seriously. You cannot worry about offending people. Do what you want.

Its definately all about the parents. I mean, I dont want to offend anyone. I'd like to think that my cousins are rational people and would not get offended. I think I'm just going to do what I want to do and not worry about anyone else.

I am having 3 flower girls and two ring bearers... and not becuase of offending the parents. Its bc of the kids.

My little cousin's (Samantha) uncle just got married and asked her other cousin to be a flower girl and not her. She was heartbroken. Well... I couldn't do it again. My god daughter, Collette was origianlly the flower girl but she is too shy to do it alone. So I also picked the outgoing little sister Helene... But that is two of the three younger cousins I have... How could I leave out Samantha (then I heard the whole drama about her not being asked )

Then the ring bearers... Fh's 2 nephews have autism and asbergers syndrome.... neither of them would make it down the aisle alone...

SOOO we asked them all.
I am not expected to pay for any of the dresses/tuxes. I don't know many people who are.
I would find out if the kids would really be hurt. Everytime I heard one of my aunts/uncles was getting married (as early as like 6 years old) I got sooo excited at the idea that they might ask me. And both did I was sooo excited to be in the wedding and would have been heartbroken if I wasn't.

JUst my opinion.. .hope i didnt' offend.
