So, FH and I went to look for invites a couple of weeks ago. I thought I wanted to get invitations that had a ribbon or some hint of my color scheme ( I included a pic of my bridesmaids dresses). But the woman at the store told me that the invites would look cheap and I should go with something more 'elegant' to match the feel of the North Ritz so we found an invitation we think we like but there $12 each!!!! But I think they are pretty, but I feel like they don't match my color scheme. What do you guys think? Should I get an invite with matching color, or go for something more 'elegant' like the woman said.

I think they're pretty....... BUT they don't match the color scheme, and its your wedding.....go with what YOU want...not the saleslady - OF COURSE she wants you to buy the $12 invitations. Follow your heart (I bet that led you the right way at least once )

I looked at invites for the first time today in person. I have been looking online for weeks. After I got home, I went back online to price them out. I found a website w/ great prices. princessweddinginvitations.com.
My number one choice (FH has to look) were $184.60 for 125 at the store, and $125.22 online. That price (both store & online)includes invite, inner and outer envelope and tissue. BTW - the store told me they are having 15% off sale (but only until Tuesday), which brings their cost down to $156.91. Still no comparison.

My color scheme is burgundy, pink and green. My Invites are simple ivory card stock with gold lettering.

The invite is very pretty, but I've always heard that the invite is the guests' first look at what your wedding will be like. So in that case you should go w/ whatever you feel fits in w/ your wedding. And I think $12 per invite is kind of a lot! The salesperson naturally wants you to spend $12. Check out a few stores online and request some samples so you can see for yourself what they're like. I just received a few from Rexcraft.com and 1 in particular has a colored ribbon on it and it is not cheesy in any way, shape or form. Try looking around a little bit more if you're not sure what to do.

I think they are pretty. But it is your wedding just follow your heart and your budget. You should shop around before you decide. Try jeanm, they can match your color and not too expensive. Good Luck

That is a gorgeous invite. A co-worker of FH has invited us to a wedding and we go this invite in the mail from them. Except the paper is the same. I saw it as a Ecru Invite or Carlson Craft sometime ago. It should be half the price. Go to wrapwithus.com. I think they have it on their site.

They are beautiful...but if you want them to match the color scheme then keep looking, $12.00 each is a lot of $$$$ to spend and not be completely happy
