my boss never even RSVP'd to my wedding. I never even got a card from my coworkers, and some were invited to the wedding.

Then, when I didn't want to participate in someone else's work shower, they made up this elaborate story about having purchased a gift off my registry (they did no such thing)

Just be happy you were thought of in some form. It really hurts when your boss and coworkers ignore your wedding

awwww that's not right....if it makes you feel any better I was the one that had to hunt half of my office down because almost none of the attorneys sent their RSVP and I had to fill out my attorney's RSVP for him and send it to myself

It's def. cheesy that they purchased 'from the firm'. Which means, they are not digging into their own pockets to give you a gift, correct?

Yes, that's correct they used the firm credit card which of course means that they can write it off as a business expense!

i work for a firm with five different offices all in one hallway, five different sets of secys and lawyers and they didn't even think to throw me a work shower, but celebrate bdays all with a cake. all of these lawyers and secys put in for a card and a g/c $100 total. for 10 people, thats $10 each, so iu know where ur coming from,t ehy ask more then that when tehy put in bday cards. it totally sux!

co workers are real cheap.. you are better off not inviting them to your party they cost you money... Try not to get upset they are just CHEESY..

I think it's weird, usually the registry is for the shower. Are they doing anything for you as far as giving you extra days off for the honeymoon/wedding?

I don't think my boss will be giving me a gift, but i do know that she will be giving me 1 week paid for my honeymoon, so I don't have to use up all of my vacation.
