We are taking pictures at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Centerport, close to Thatched Cottage, and a few minuts away from Kings Park. It's a beautiful spot with indoor and outdoor photo op spots. You pay them for a permit, max is $300 depending on the space you select. I felt it was worth it to not stress about a place for pictures.

Aw, I am sure you will find a spot! Good luck! I am a TC bride and they told me that we can get there an hour before for pics so I am hoping that will be enough time.

are you getting married at Thatched Cottage? If so where do you actually get married there?

Re: Need help with picture location

Thatched Cottage has a ceremony room upstairs. FH and I actually decided not to use the typical ceremony room, and are getting married in the Willow Room, a room off to the right when you enter the lobby area. In that room, you can also do the ceremony but in a different setup (semicircle chairs, as opposed to the typical straight rows). The Willow Room has a beautiful mantle/fireplace and a gorgeous view of the water.

are you looking for nature or architecture?

cavanaugh beach in fort salonga
kings park bluffs
sunken meadow state park

can you take pictures on that lake somewhere even if thatched cottage won't let you use their property?

Re: Need help with picture location

When the weather gets a lil nicer I will take FH to the bluff, sunken meadow, callahans etc, I'm just so worried about the time its so tight. I have to take pics between 930-1030, I will have to ask my hairdresser to start at 530am. This is crazy!!
