Does anyone know the correct spelling of the word Matride.
You know the person who is in charge of all the waiters at your reception!!

it is french, i believe it means 'master of.....' but it has been awhile

well, if we want to be all technical, maitre d' is actually the shortened form of the following:

maitre d'hotel, meaning a head waiter or major-domo. Master of house.
